CHAUFFEZ VERT GRANT PROGRAM
Are you thinking of changing your oil or gas heating system to a more ecological and economical system? Maybe you’ve been considering the installation of an ENERGY STAR® certified mini split or central heat pump?
The Government of Quebec's Chauffez Vert program supports homeowners who want to replace their propane or oil heating system with a system that runs on electricity (or another renewable energy source). Note that the replacement of a propane or oil heater is also eligible for financial assistance.
The work must include the removal of the propane or oil tank and the dismantling of the furnace or fuel boiler used before the new installation.
You could take advantage of the CHAUFFEZ-VERT grant from the Government of Quebec, which offers financial assistance to replace your fossil fuel system with an ENERGY STAR® certified electric or renewable energy system. In order to qualify for the grant and warranty, all work must be performed by a company that has all of its licenses and certifications. The Government offers a bonus to the program by adding $1,000 for the installation of an ENERGY STAR® certified high-efficiency heat pump, so you could recover up to $2,800. This bonus is valid at least until December 31, 2023.
Since October 20, 2022, the program has been administered by the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs. The normative framework remains in force.
