RenoClimat Grant Program

RENOCLIMAT GRANT PROGRAM

  • All residents of Greater Montreal and Quebec in general should take advantage of a completely free home visit from a Rénoclimat advisor and benefit from personalized advice to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
  • Reduce your annual energy consumption and your long-term Hydro-Québec bills while improving the comfort of your home.
  • Obtain financial assistance of up to $5,000.

You may be eligible for financial assistance from the Government of Quebec, through the Rénoclimat program, if you undertake any of the following works:

  • insulation work
  • waterproofing work
  • replacement of doors and windows
  • the installation or replacement of mechanical systems (ventilation systems, water heaters, heat pumps, air conditioning and heating systems, geothermal system, etc.).

If you are eligible, we fully encourage you to take advantage of the Rénoclimat program for your home’s renovation work. You could save up to $5,000 following the installation or complete replacement of an ENERGY STAR® qualified wall-mounted heat pump or central air heating and cooling unit. For now, it is valid until December 31, 2023. The Rénoclimat program applies to those who have several renovations to do, such as insulation, window or door replacement, and the replacement of an ENERGY STAR® wall-mounted or central heat pump.

The amount of financial assistance you are entitled to will depend on the heating power of the system you currently have. Thus, the more powerful the heat pump installed, the greater the subsidy granted will be proportionally. The precise amount of financial assistance offered for each model is indicated in the list of eligible heat pumps from the Government of Quebec. The calculation is simple, the financial assistance is $50 for every thousand BTUs of heating at -8°C, not to be confused with the total quantity of BTUs of your appliance.

The government is offering an improvement to the program by giving up to $5,000 for appliances that function at high energy efficiency. This is valid at least until December 31, 2023. Be sure to read all the eligibility criteria in the Participant's Guide of the Rénoclimat Program of the Government of Quebec (Effective as of September 1, 2022).

At AirGreen, we strongly believe that installing an ENERGY STAR® qualified system is a great investment that will considerably help your budget. Indeed, in addition to allowing you to benefit from an excellent grant, our ENERGY STAR® systems will bring significant savings on your heating bills. In the end you benefit from double savings.

It is important to note that you absolutely must schedule an appointment with an EnerGuide evaluator both BEFORE and AFTER your renovation work. He must come to the scene, do an inspection, offer you advice, and then come back to verify. Without the two visits from the government technician, you will unfortunately not be able to receive financial assistance. Also, there are certain delays normally associated with scheduling a visit, so plan ahead, especially during peak summer season.

If you want to be entitled to the subsidy as well as the warranty for your heat pump, the work must absolutely be completed by a professional company with all its RBQ licenses, such as AirGreen.
