Important Information for Residents of Varennes Regarding Heat Pump or Air Conditioner Installation

Dear Varennes residents,

At AirGreen, we take pride in serving you and assisting with your heat pump or air conditioner installation projects. We understand the significance of adhering to local regulations, and we aim to provide you with all the necessary information for a compliant installation.

Regulations for Varennes:

  • Permit: Great news! No permit is required for the installation of your heat pump or air conditioner in Varennes.

  • Minimum Distance: The equipment must be installed at a minimum distance of 1.2 m (or 4 feet) from any property line.

  • Placement: Installation of your equipment in the front yard is prohibited. However, there's an exception for buildings with 3 or more units. In these instances, and outside of heritage zones (category PA), heat pumps can be installed in the front yard provided they are placed on a porch, balcony, or deck. Additionally, the equipment should only serve a single unit.

Your Responsibility:

We'd like to emphasize that it's the client's responsibility to ensure the installation complies with current regulations and to obtain agreement from neighbors if necessary. While we are always here to guide and advise you, the final validation and acquisition of any required permissions fall to the client, unless otherwise specified in our contract. However, rest assured that our team is always on hand to answer any questions and support you throughout the process.

Thank you for placing your trust in us, and we look forward to working with you on your Varennes projects. Please don't hesitate to reach out for any additional information.

Warm regards,

The AirGreen Team.
