In that spot, the temperature picked up by the unit can differ from that of the occupied room, and the \u003cstrong\u003eheat pump\u003c\/strong\u003e then shuts off too early or too late. With the sensor on the wall, the air in the lived-in room becomes the reference, and the unit can hold the set point where it matters.
