The AltSource 70-15 goes in the mechanical room and adds heat when the sun and the heat pump fall short. Water can be heated from 50 °F to 190 °F (10 °C to 88 °C).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBefore the work, space and electricity must be planned. The unit measures 24 in in diameter and 28 in deep with the door, and weighs 380 lb before filling. Thermo 2000 lists an 80 A breaker and Cu 6 \/ Al 4 wire gauge at 240 V; at 208 V, output becomes 11.2 kW at 54.3 A.
