chaudiere-electrique-conforto-at-at2446-24-kw-240v
CONFORTO AT AT2446 Electric Boiler | 24 kW - 240V

24 kW of hot-water heating in a single wall-mounted boiler

The top of the AT series, in the same format

The Conforto AT2446 is the largest single boiler of the AT series: 24 kW at 240 V, or 82,000 BTU/h according to the manufacturer. It still keeps the same wall-mounted cabinet as the other models in the series, about 70 lb (32 kg) as shipped, with 1 1/4 in NPT water connections. For a large house or a small building, that is a lot of heat in little wall space.

Its four 6,000 W elements come on in four stages, with element rotation. An immersion sensor at the heat exchanger outlet controls the stages and prevents short cycling. The controller shows its values on 3 characters, handles freeze protection and a domestic hot-water setpoint with priority for an indirect water heater.

Which buildings it suits

Think of a large Longueuil house heated by radiators on three levels, a Montreal plex whose units share a hot-water loop, or a South Shore commercial space heated by a radiant floor. Conforto also covers commercial use in its warranty, with 2 years on parts and 10 years on the heat exchanger, while the limited lifetime warranty covers indoor residential use in Canada.

If 24 kW is not enough, the series continues with systems of two boilers in parallel, at 28, 32 and 40 kW. We compare those options with you rather than oversizing.

What to plan for

A boiler this size is planned from the electrical service. Conforto lists an element current of 100.0 A, a minimum circuit ampacity of 132.5 A and maximum protection of 150 A, at 240 V single phase. The loop, for its part, must supply at least 8.2 gpm to the boiler for a 20 °F ΔT.

The boiler does not modulate and the documents do not mention an outdoor sensor: the heating setpoint is therefore set to suit your emitters, radiators or floor, and we adjust it at commissioning.

What AirGreen’s installation covers

The on-site estimate is free: we assess the electrical service, the panel, the loop and its emitters. The written quote then states the boiler, the circulator, the components to replace and, where applicable, the electrical upgrade.

Our technicians mount the boiler, make the water and electrical connections, fill and purge the loop, check each of the four stages and set the setpoints. We also leave you the instructions for the yearly maintenance required by Conforto’s warranty.
