At 27 kW, or 92,190 BTU\/h according to Conforto, it is the strongest Lowboy in the series, still in a 34 1\/2 in high cabinet that blows air out through the top.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is mainly for homeowners replacing a low-profile furnace in a basement where a tall furnace would not fit, and whose home has high heating needs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eA blower sized for the house\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat changes compared with the smaller sizes is the blower: a 12 x 10 in wheel driven by a four-speed 3\/4 HP PSC motor. On HIGH, Conforto publishes 1,775 CFM at 0.2 in. w.c. and 1,600 CFM at 0.5 in. w.c. That airflow allows a central air conditioner or heat pump coil up to 5.0 tons, on the supply or the return side.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHeating, for its part, happens in stages. The six elements, three of 5 kW and three of 4 kW, do not all start at once: a 15 kW first stage covers most days, and the rest is added during cold snaps. ComfortMax modulates the elements every cycle and QuietComfort pre-warms recirculated air at low energy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eHow it fits your home\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA furnace this size needs planning. Conforto requires a 240 V single-phase circuit with a 150 A minimum ampacity, a breaker of no more than 150 A and 1 AWG wire. In many homes, that is a large share of the electrical service capacity: it must be checked before choosing this size.
