The MHAH136DACFC is that cabinet in the 3-ton (36,000 BTU/h) size of the MHAH series, which Conforto presents in its brochure on ducted central heat pumps. The manufacturer publishes a maximum airflow of 1,082 CFM for it.

Summer and winter, the air has to reach everywhere

In a two-storey home on the North Shore or in Laval, the challenge is familiar: the upper floor overheats in July, the basement stays cool in January. A well-chosen 3-ton size helps, but the real work happens in the ducts. The air handler’s airflow has to reach the bedrooms, and the air has to come back through adequate returns. That is what we check first during the estimate, before even talking about equipment.

On noise, Conforto publishes 45 dB at maximum speed, 43 dB at medium and 41 dB at minimum. Most of the time, a correctly sized system runs at the lower speeds, where it is quietest.

Key data

In terms of footprint, allow for a 21.02 x 21.02 in base and 49.02 in of height. Power is 208/230 V single phase, 60 Hz; the refrigerant connections are 3/8 in for the liquid and 3/4 in for the suction. Also plan room for the plenum and the service clearance the manufacturer requires.

On the purchase side, the MHAH136DACFC is sold without an outdoor unit, and the matched Conforto model is confirmed before ordering. Bought alone, it does not qualify for the LogisVert grant, which is reserved for the certified outdoor unit + air handler pair. Our data mentions no heater kit for this model; electric backup heat is therefore validated with the manufacturer before ordering.

How the installation goes

Our family business has been established in Montreal for more than fifteen years; its RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 covers ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. After the free on-site estimate, you receive a written quote that specifies the equipment and, if needed, the duct corrections. On installation day, our technicians remove the old unit, install the air handler, adapt the plenum, connect the refrigerant piping, the condensate drain and the electrical supply, pull a vacuum, then commission and balance the system with you.
