The Dettson Suprême Modulante SUP20-M240V12 solves this paradox: its solid-state control varies the element output from 0 to 100 %, based on a 5 to 100 % demand sent by the thermostat. It delivers up to 20 kW at 240 V, or 15 kW and 51,256 BTU\/h at 208 V, and moves air with a 1\/2 HP ECM motor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThe thermostat, at the heart of the system\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo benefit from modulation, you need a thermostat that speaks the same language as the furnace. Dettson provides for two types. The modulating thermostat connects to the V\/W2, C, R, G, Y1, Y2, O and DH terminals and sends a PWM signal. The communicating thermostat uses terminals 1, 2, R and C with an RJ11 cable. It is this second choice that, with a coil on the return, lets the heat pump and the elements heat at the same time, in Dettson’s Right-Sized® system.
