Adding a central heat pump does not mean replacing everything: it takes an evaporator coil above the furnace and a matched outdoor unit. The furnace stays in place, blows the air and provides backup heat.

ADP’s HE31930A140A0000AP plays that coil role. It is an A-coil shipped without a cabinet, in a right-hand configuration, that sits in the plenum of the electric furnace or an air handler. It suits split-levels, cottages and semi-detached homes that want air conditioning in summer and a heat pump in winter, on the existing ductwork.

What the ADP sheet says

The model number reads with the manufacturer’s nomenclature. Under that nomenclature, capacity code 30 stands for 30,000 BTU/h nominal, and ADP publishes a reference airflow of 1,000 CFM at 30 MBTUH. Its selection table lists the E31 slab in the 18, 24 and 30 MBTUH rows: this is why we always confirm the exact match with the outdoor unit before ordering.

Expansion valve: non-bleed TXV, designed for heat pump and air conditioning use on R-410A.

Coil: E31 copper slab, 13 in high, with a 3/4 in ODF suction connection for brazing.

Drain pan: 14.0 in wide, 19.5 in deep, UV-resistant, 450°F polymer with Microban antimicrobial additive.

Quality control: helium leak test and 500 psi air pressure test at the factory.

Sold alone, a coil has no efficiency rating of its own and is not eligible for the LogisVert grant. Final performance depends on the outdoor unit and indoor unit it is matched with.

Installation, done by AirGreen

A family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. For a heat pump project on an electric furnace, we:

visit the house free of charge, measure the plenum and note where the lines and drain run;

confirm the match between the coil and the proposed outdoor unit;

set the coil, braze the copper connections and connect the drain;

commission the system, in cooling as well as heating.

This model has a right-hand configuration; if your installation needs the other side, the left-hand HE31930A140A0004AP is available in the same series.
