This model is available while supplies last.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWhy the coil matters as much as the outdoor unit\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn summer, the coil absorbs heat and humidity from the air passing through the furnace. In winter, with a heat pump, the cycle reverses and the same coil returns the heat captured outdoors to the ductwork. The electric furnace stays in place and takes over during deep cold. A poorly matched coil limits the whole system, which is why we check the outdoor unit before ordering: Arcoaire does not publish a matching list for this model. For the same reason, a coil sold alone has no efficiency rating of its own and does not qualify for the LogisVert grant.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eA factory-installed thermostatic expansion valve\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe metering device doses the refrigerant entering the coil. On the EAA4X24L14A, it is an R-410A thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), installed at the factory. It responds to the temperature at the coil outlet to adjust the refrigerant flow. The main tubes and the fins are aluminum, with copper stubs for brazing on site. The connections measure 3\/8 in for the liquid line and 5\/8 in for the suction line.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eA townhouse, a 14-3\/16 in furnace\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn townhouses and semi-detached homes in \u003cstrong\u003eLaval\u003c\/strong\u003e or \u003cstrong\u003eLongueuil\u003c\/strong\u003e, the electric furnace is often compact. This coil is designed for a 14-3\/16 in wide cabinet, according to Arcoaire’s nomenclature, and installs vertically, in upflow or downflow. Since it is uncased, it fits in the plenum or in a suitable casing, not included.
