LogisVert program assistance for a heat pump is calculated in BTU/h at -8 °C : you must therefore find the heating capacity of your system at -8 °C from the official references of the device.
Calculation of aid and importance of -8 °C
For an efficient heat pump, the financial assistance is calculated at $50/1000 BTU/h at -8°C ( ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump) or at $120/1000 BTU/h at -8°C if it is of the "cold climate" type.
Note: the measure "very high efficiency heat pump and caulking work" was withdrawn on August 25, 2025 (work carried out before this date may still be eligible for a request according to the terms of the program).
Where to find the value in BTU/h at -8 °C
The guide doesn't provide a single field to fill in for this value; instead, it asks for references (numbers and models) to identify the complete system. You then use these references to find the capacity at -8°C in the technical documentation associated with the model.
Specifically, check:
-
The invoice: presence of the AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number (required), and the product description.
-
The photo of the rating plate: it must show the ENERGY STAR® symbol and indicate the model number and serial number of the outdoor unit (one photo per model).
-
Manufacturer's documentation related to the model / AHRI number: this is where the capacity in BTU/h at -8 °C is usually indicated.
-

Documents required for your LogisVert application
Applications must be submitted online at logisvert.ca (applications submitted by email or mail will not be processed). Information on invoices must demonstrate that they have been paid.
For a heat pump, the invoice must include, among other things:
-
Invoice number and date + installation date
-
Customer name and installation address
-
Company name, GST/QST numbers, and RBQ license number
-
Product description and eligible work
-
AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number + cost of work
Deadlines, technical requirements and compliance points
-
Important date: Heat pumps installed from November 26, 2025 onwards must be ENERGY STAR® certified to be eligible (before this date: treatment according to the list of devices in effect at the time of installation).
-
Minimum technical requirement: the outdoor unit must have a minimum rated power (in air conditioning mode) of 12,000 BTU/h .
-
Deadlines: You must submit your application no later than 9 months after the measure is implemented; processing time is 10 to 12 weeks from the date of a complete application (and a notice of incompleteness/ineligibility may arrive within approximately 20 business days of receipt). Hydro-Québec may also request access to the dwelling within 6 months of the application.
-
If a RL-27 slip is required, one of the following pieces of information may be requested: NEQ , QST or SSN .
