To check if your heat pump model meets LogisVert requirements, the key is to identify the exact model number (especially on the outdoor unit) and to have the required proof (paid invoice + photo of the nameplate).
What needs to be confirmed
To avoid any ambiguity, you must first confirm the identification of the complete system (outdoor unit + one or more indoor units) and the installation date.
-
Outdoor unit model number and serial number
-
Indoor unit model number(s) (if applicable)
-
AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number (if present in your documents)
-
Installation date (this determines how eligibility is assessed)
Where to find the model number (and prove it)
Two sources are considered valid in the application: the invoice and the nameplate.
-
Rating plate (outdoor unit) : provide a clear photo showing the ENERGY STAR® symbol and clearly indicating the model number and serial number (one photo per model).
-
Paid invoice(s) : Proof of purchase and installation must include, among other things, a description of the product and eligible work, as well as an AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number. The invoice information must demonstrate that it has been paid.
Link to the “list” and installation date
The method for validating eligibility depends on the installation date.
-
Heat pump installed on or after November 26, 2025 : it must be ENERGY STAR® certified to be eligible.
-
Heat pump installed before November 26, 2025 : the analysis is done according to the list of devices in effect at the time of installation (hence the importance of having the installation date and the exact model).
Technical points to check for eligibility
Once the model is confirmed, certain criteria of the Program must be demonstrable in your documents.
-
The complete system must be new and ENERGY STAR® certified.
-
The outdoor unit must have a minimum rated output of 12,000 BTU/h (in cooling mode).
-
Financial assistance is calculated based on the capacity in BTU/h at -8 °C (and, if applicable, whether the heat pump is of the "cold climate" type): if this detail does not appear on your documents, check the manufacturer's documentation associated with your AHRI / ENERGY STAR® number.
Application submission and required documents
The application must be submitted online and on time, with all supporting documents.
-
Submit your application on logisvert.ca no later than 9 months after the date the measure was put into effect.
-
If your application is incomplete or ineligible, you will be notified within approximately 20 business days of receipt. Processing time is 10 to 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a complete application.
-
Typical documents to include: proof of ownership + paid invoice(s) (including the company's RBQ license number, GST and QST numbers, and AHRI or ENERGY STAR® number) + photo of the nameplate.
-
Depending on your situation (e.g., income related to a property), Hydro-Québec may require a NEQ , a QST number or a SSN (for the RL-27).
-
Hydro-Québec can also verify compliance and request access to the dwelling within 6 months of your request.
If you are still unsure after comparing the invoice and the nameplate, contact support at 1-833-396-1888 (and notify them of any change of address).
