Heat pumps in Saint-Alexandre: permits and bylaws

- Not allowed on the main façade above the ground-floor ceiling, except on a balcony.

How far from the lot lines must the unit be?
4.5 m at the front, 1 m on the sides and at the rear; no more than 2 m from the house.
Can a heat pump go in the front yard?
Yes, with conditions. 4.5 m from the front lot line, no more than 2 m from the house, hidden from the street by an opaque screen.
What is the noise limit?
Noise bylaw RM-420: no decibel figure; any noisy appliance that disturbs the neighbours is prohibited from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
