Four-season comfort in a Montreal plex
In this project in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie , we installed and upgraded a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump , ideal for providing stable comfort in both summer and winter. The apartment in question is a typical Montreal plex , with narrow hallways and sometimes limited air circulation. Our technicians designed an installation that maximizes efficiency while respecting the aesthetics and existing configuration.
Customer needs analysis
The owner wanted to replace his old air conditioning system with a more versatile and energy-efficient solution, capable of heating at very low outdoor temperatures, while maintaining quiet air conditioning during the summer season. The Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump was a natural choice, thanks to its proven reliability and its eligibility for energy subsidies offered in Quebec, particularly for models performing down to -26°C.
Technical steps of installation
Positioning the indoor unit
The wall-mounted fan was strategically mounted in the apartment's central hallway. This location allows for even air distribution to adjacent rooms, while optimizing space utilization. Despite the low ceiling height, our technicians ensured a solid and compliant installation.
Crossing and connections
A precise drilling was carried out to connect the indoor unit to the outdoor unit via insulated and protected refrigerant lines. The electrical connections were discreetly integrated to preserve the interior aesthetics.
Condensate management
Given the layout of the premises, a gravity system was installed for condensate drainage. This approach reduces the risk of breakdowns and facilitates long-term maintenance.
Commissioning and calibration
Once the connections were completed, the unit was turned on and tested with an infrared thermometer to confirm proper performance in air conditioning mode. The measurements confirmed optimal performance and even distribution throughout the hallway.
