Project background
Our clients wanted to improve their four-season comfort in their condo. The main living space, combining the kitchen and living room, suffered from intense summer heat and cool winter temperatures. Their priority: a quiet, efficient, and grant-eligible system. The solution chosen was the installation of a Midea wall-mounted heat pump , recognized for its excellent energy efficiency and reliability in the Quebec climate.

Installation Steps
Preparing the space
The indoor unit was installed above a wall-mounted bookcase, optimizing air circulation throughout the room. This configuration required precise work at height and the use of a secure stepladder. We made sure to leave sufficient clearance between the ceiling and the unit to ensure optimal air circulation.
Drilling and passage of connections
A discreet hole was made behind the unit, allowing the refrigeration lines, the electrical cable and the condensate pipe to pass through. Everything was carefully insulated and covered to preserve the interior aesthetics.
Condensate management
Given the installation height and the absence of a direct gravity outlet, we have integrated a silent condensate pump , guaranteeing the safe evacuation of condensation water to the outside.
Outdoor unit
The outdoor unit was installed on a concrete slab with anti-vibration mounts , reducing noise pollution and protecting the compressor from vibrations. The positioning was designed to facilitate maintenance and preserve the durability of the system.
Challenges and solutions

Limited interior space : the presence of tall furniture under the unit required precise installation to ensure optimal airflow.

Condensate drainage : the absence of a natural slope required the addition of a specialized pump, guaranteeing reliable operation in summer and winter.
Results obtained
After commissioning, customers immediately noticed an improvement in thermal comfort , with an even temperature distribution. The system operates silently and already provides significant electricity savings compared to their old electric space heater.
