Installation of a Sharp Eco Inverter wall-mounted heat pump in Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension

Interior comfort redesigned in a Montreal open kitchen

At AirGreen , we know that a high-performance HVAC system must integrate both the technical constraints of a home and the daily lives of its occupants. This is exactly what we achieved during this installation in a duplex in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension neighborhood, where we installed a Sharp Eco Inverter wall-mounted heat pump in a space combining the kitchen and living room.

The modernized yet compact main room presented layout challenges: a lowered ceiling with a skylight, proximity to the kitchen, and limited wall space. Despite these constraints, our team was able to find the ideal configuration to maximize airflow and ensure consistent comfort.

Sharp Eco Inverter Heat Pump Features

The Sharp Eco Inverter is a reliable and efficient choice for apartments and duplexes in Montreal.

Technical advantages:

  • Available capacities : 9,000 to 18,000 BTU, suitable for main rooms and open plan areas.

  • Inverter technology : continuous power modulation, reducing temperature variations and electricity costs.

  • Energy performance : high seasonal efficiency (high SEER, HSPF adapted to Quebec winters).

  • Compatibility with subsidies : eligible for current programs thanks to its energy certifications.

  • Low noise level : ideal for multifunctional spaces like here, where the system operates near the kitchen and living room.

Installation process

Strategic positioning

The wall-mounted head was mounted on a central wall, slightly set back from the kitchen. This arrangement allows for optimized air distribution throughout the room, avoiding areas of direct draft at the table or counter.

Aesthetic integration

The choice of a compact, clean-lined white model blends naturally with the light-colored walls and the minimalist style of the renovated kitchen. The overall effect remains discreet and doesn't overload the visual space.

Connection management

The refrigeration pipes and wiring were routed through the rear wall to the outdoor condenser, which was already mounted on the facade. The protective cover ensures a clean finish and protects the pipes from the elements.

Challenges encountered and solutions provided

Architectural constraints

The presence of a partially lowered ceiling with a skylight limited the choice of locations. After careful analysis, we selected a free wall area allowing sufficient clearance for airflow.

Proximity to the kitchen

Installing a heat pump near a kitchen involves considering natural ventilation and odor management . Thanks to built-in filtration technology and regular scheduled maintenance, the air circulated remains healthy and pleasant, even in a space where cooking is frequent.

Results and benefits for occupants

Since installation, occupants have benefited from constant thermal comfort , whether to cool the house during summer heat waves or to heat efficiently during winter cold.

The main benefits observed:

  • Uniform temperature throughout the open area.

  • Lower electricity bills compared to old electric heaters.

  • Quiet operation , allowing you to cook, read or watch television without noise pollution.

  • Discreet and modern installation that enhances the renovated room.
