Installation of a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump in Villeray

An HVAC installation project designed for urban comfort

In the Villeray neighborhood, where modern condos sit side by side with older buildings, thermal comfort has become a priority. At AirGreen , we were commissioned to install a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump in a sleekly designed apartment. Our goal was clear: to provide a high-performance, discreet heating and cooling system that would seamlessly integrate into the living space.

Analysis of needs and choice of equipment

The client wanted to replace an energy-intensive portable air conditioner with a more sustainable and efficient system. After a comprehensive energy assessment, we recommended a Fujitsu 12,000 BTU wall-mounted heat pump, suitable for the dimensions of the main room. This model is known for:

  • its high energy efficiency (SEER2 and HSPF2 compliant with Canadian standards),

  • its reliable operating capacity down to -25°C ,

  • its discreet design is perfectly suited to urban residential spaces.

In addition, this range is eligible for grant programs such as LogisVert and Canada Greener Homes , allowing the customer to significantly reduce their acquisition costs.

Installation process

Study of the route and constraints

In this Villeray condo, we had to deal with:

  • a concrete wall requiring precise drilling,

  • an optimized passage for refrigerant pipes and drainage,

  • electrical wiring close to the interior head, minimizing visible additions.

Installation of the inner head

The wall-mounted fan head was installed at a strategic height, ensuring even air distribution throughout the room. Particular care was taken with leveling to ensure efficient gravity drainage and prevent any accumulation of condensate.

Routing of conduits

The ducts were discreetly capped on the outside with white capping to match the facade. This finish protects the connections from the elements and extends the system's lifespan.

Electrical connection and commissioning

The connection was made via a dedicated line to the apartment's electrical panel, ensuring safety and compliance with Quebec's electrical code. After pressurization and leak testing, the heat pump was activated: the results immediately confirmed the Fujitsu model's performance and quietness .

Results and benefits for the client

At the end of the installation, the customer now benefits from four-season comfort :

  • efficient and quiet cooling during Montreal summers,

  • economical and constant heating even during the cold of January,

  • a substantial reduction in energy consumption compared to its old system.

As a bonus, the owner benefits from applicable subsidies , reducing the initial investment and improving the return on investment in the medium term.
