In Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, an apartment owner contacted us to improve the comfort of his home year-round. The living space was already well insulated, but lacked flexibility: too hot in the summer, unevenly heated in the winter, with unpleasant humidity fluctuations.
We suggested the installation of a Gree wall-mounted heat pump , a compact, quiet solution perfectly suited to the typical apartments and plexes of the area.
The context: optimizing comfort in urban housing
The apartment is located in a typical Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie residential building: standard ceilings, white walls, rooms arranged in a row. The most strategic area for comfort was the main living space, open to the kitchen and dining area.
The client's objectives:
-
Maintaining a stable temperature in all seasons.
-
Gain in energy efficiency compared to electric baseboard heaters.
-
Install a visually discreet device that blends into the clean, white decor.
-
Benefit from a system that is easy to use on a daily basis.
Choosing a Gree wall-mounted heat pump
We recommended a Gree wall-mounted heat pump of approximately 12,000 BTU , sized to efficiently cover the living area of the apartment, while also contributing to the overall heating of the dwelling.
The advantages of this Gree wall-mounted heat pump:
-
Inverter technology : power is continuously adjusted according to actual demand, which reduces frequent starts and decreases electricity consumption.
-
Efficient heating mode : the heat pump ensures stable comfort even when the mercury drops, an essential point in Montreal's climate.
-
Air conditioning and dehumidification mode : in summer, the device cools the air while controlling humidity, for a much more pleasant feeling of comfort than with a simple fan or portable air conditioner.
-
Clear interface : the digital display on the front shows the set temperature, allowing the customer to see the current settings at a glance.
We opted for a deliberately simple and efficient configuration, perfectly suited to the owner's urban lifestyle.
A clean, discreet, and efficient indoor installation
The photo shows the Gree wall-mounted head installed high up, very close to the ceiling, on a clear wall. This location was chosen for several reasons:
-
Optimal air distribution
Installed high up, the heat pump can blow conditioned air above the occupants, which then naturally descends back into the room. This reduces direct drafts and provides a more consistent temperature. -
Clearances respected
We left sufficient space around the unit to ensure proper air intake from above and exhaust from below. The unit is also positioned a safe distance from the door opening visible on the right, to avoid obstructing the door's opening or being exposed to impacts. -
Aesthetics and integration
The Gree wall-mounted unit, with its minimalist, white design, blends seamlessly into the light-colored wall. Refrigerant and electrical lines are concealed within the wall and behind technical covers, out of sight. The result: an installation that doesn't visually steal the show in the room. -
Accessibility for maintenance
We always ensure easy access for filter cleaning and maintenance. The customer can easily open the front panel using a stepladder to remove and clean the air filters.
Below the device, the electrical outlets and wall switch remain accessible, with no visible cables or visual clutter.
Everyday comfort: silence and precision
From the moment it was switched on, the customer noticed how quiet the Gree wall-mounted heat pump was. In low-power mode, its operation is barely perceptible, which is particularly appreciated in a living room where one watches television, reads, or works.
Among the tangible benefits:
-
Stable temperature without sudden variations.
-
Simple remote control allowing you to switch between modes (heating, air conditioning, dehumidification, ventilation).
-
Possibility of using time programs to adapt the operation to lifestyle habits (lowering the temperature at night or during absences).
-
Improved air quality thanks to integrated filters, which trap dust and particles.
In a dense neighbourhood like Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, where outside noise can be present, it is appreciated that the interior comfort solution remains as quiet as possible.
An installation designed for Montreal winters
Even though it's a compact and discreet unit, the Gree wall-mounted heat pump installed here makes a real contribution to heating the home. Combined with a high-performance outdoor unit, it:
-
Takes over a large part of the heating load during moderate temperatures.
-
Significantly reduces the energy consumption of auxiliary electric baseboard heaters .
-
It allows you to control your energy bill throughout the year, while also providing air conditioning in the summer.
We always size our facilities taking into account Montreal's specific climate: episodes of intense cold, rapid temperature variations, and very humid periods in spring and fall.
