Project background
The client, the owner of a modern condo, was looking for an energy-efficient solution to maintain a stable temperature year-round. Their goal was twofold: to reduce their electricity bill and improve overall comfort, particularly during the hot summers and harsh winters of the Montreal area.

Key steps of installation
Preparation and drilling
The indoor unit was installed high up, centered on the living room wall, to ensure optimal air distribution . As is often the case in modern condos, the passage of refrigeration pipes and electrical cables required precise drilling.
We made two openings in the wall, carefully insulated, in order to protect the conduits and preserve the energy efficiency of the building envelope .
Conduit management
The refrigeration pipes and drainage pipe were routed directly to the exterior. In this case, the installation was gravity-fed, eliminating the need for a condensate pump and reducing future maintenance risks. A decorative cover will be added during the finishing process to harmonize with the interior.
Safety and finishing
Particular attention has been paid to the sealing around the openings , which is essential to prevent any infiltration of air or humidity. The insulation has been reinforced inside the wall, which contributes to the performance of the device while maintaining the comfort of the home.

Challenges and solutions
The main challenge of this installation was running the ducts through an already insulated and clad wall. To ensure a clean finish, we created a technical opening and then repositioned the insulation. This approach protects the condo's energy performance while facilitating future maintenance, if necessary.
