A well-hidden, but neglected heat pump
During a recent service call in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue , our AirGreen team was called in to inspect and clean a Samsung central heat pump installed outdoors, under a wooden shelter. 1. Preparation and securing

First, we manually removed the leaves, branches, and dirt that had accumulated under and around the unit. This initial cleaning immediately improves airflow.
3. Washing the heat exchanger
Using a low-pressure water jet and a biodegradable detergent , we cleaned the condenser fins . This step is essential to restore heat exchange capacity.
4. Fan and drain inspection
We then removed the front grille to check the condition of the fan . There was a light deposit of dust and grease, which was removed using a microfiber cloth and a mild cleaner.
The condensation drain was also purged and cleaned, thus preventing any risk of water stagnation or mold growth.
5. Final testing and calibration
Once the cleaning was complete, we reconnected the heat pump and performed a full functional test : blowing temperature, pressure, and overall efficiency. The values had returned to normal, demonstrating a complete restoration of the system's efficiency .
