What documents do I need to provide to prove the installation of a heat pump?

How to properly prepare your application: documents required to prove the installation of an eligible heat pump

At AirGreen , we know that obtaining a LogisVert grant for the installation of an efficient or high-efficiency heat pump can make all the difference for our residential customers in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil , on the North Shore and the South Shore . However, to benefit from the financial assistance offered by Hydro-Québec , it is crucial to provide supporting documents that are complete and comply with the program requirements.

Here we offer you a clear, detailed guide that is 100% compliant with the LogisVert program criteria to help you gather all the necessary documents and avoid common errors that can lead to delays or refusals.

Why are these documents so important?

The LogisVert program requires tangible proof of the installation of an eligible heat pump . These documents allow Hydro-Québec to:

  • Check the device's eligibility (model, power, energy efficiency)

  • Confirm that the installation was carried out by a qualified company

  • Ensure that the home is eligible and that the work has been carried out in accordance with standards

An incomplete or imprecise file may delay processing or even result in a refusal of a grant , regardless of the quality of the work carried out.

What types of heat pumps are eligible?

Two main categories of heat pumps are eligible for financial assistance:

  • Efficient heat pump (wall-mounted or central) : eligible according to the list approved by Hydro-Québec

  • High-efficiency heat pump combined with caulking work : eligible according to another grid, with a higher amount per BTU

In both cases, the device must:

  • To be new

  • Have been purchased in Quebec

  • Be installed in eligible accommodation

  • Be certified according to the required energy performance standards

  • Appear on the official list of heat pumps recognized by Hydro-Québec

Mandatory documents to provide for an efficient heat pump

1. Proof of home ownership

This document verifies that the applicant is the owner of the home in which the heat pump was installed. It is possible to provide one of the following documents:

  • An electronic copy of the municipal tax bill

  • Or the first page of the notarized deed of sale

Note: For members of Indigenous communities, a copy of the electricity bill or a letter from the band council confirming ownership is accepted.

2. Heat pump invoice

The invoice must be clear, complete and detailed , and include the following elements:

  • Invoice number and date

  • Customer Name (same as on proof of ownership)

  • Heat pump installation address

  • Name of the company that sold and/or installed the device

  • Company's GST/QST numbers

  • Installer's RBQ license number

  • Full product description , including model , capacity (BTU/h at -8°C) and AHRI number

  • Total cost of purchase and installation

3. Photograph of the outdoor unit

  • Clear photo of the outdoor unit nameplate

  • The photo must clearly show the model number and serial number.

Additional documents for high-efficiency heat pumps with caulking

In this case, separate evidence must be provided for:

A. The high-efficiency heat pump

  • The same documents as above apply (proof of ownership, invoice, photo of the nameplate)

  • The model must be on the official list of high-efficiency heat pumps

B. Caulking work

A separate invoice is required, including:

  • Invoice number and date

  • Name of the client and address where the work was carried out

  • Company name , RBQ number , and GST/QST numbers

  • Detailed list of caulking work carried out: windows, exterior doors, attic access hatches, fans, electrical outlets, etc.

  • Total cost of the work

AirGreen Tip: Even if no air leaks have been detected in a given location, the work must cover all listed areas to be eligible.

Deadlines to be respected

  • The application must be submitted within 9 months of the heat pump installation date .

  • If you combine several measures in the same request (e.g.: heat pump + caulking), the 9-month period begins on the date of the first measure installed.

Processing the request

  1. Create a profile on logisvert.ca

  2. Submit the application with all required documents

  3. Wait for analysis (10 to 12 weeks) – Hydro-Québec will communicate by email if any parts are missing.

  4. Possibility of a home verification visit

  5. Receipt of payment by mail
