Eligibility and Conditions

Who can benefit from the program?

• Eligible owners: Any owner of an eligible dwelling located in Quebec and powered by electricity from the Hydro-Québec network or an autonomous/municipal/cooperative network.
• Eligible dwellings: Single-family homes, condominiums, multiplexes, residential buildings with 19 units or less, or apartments in buildings with 20 units or more, habitable year-round.

Specific Conditions for the Heat Pump System

For your installation to be eligible, it must meet certain specifications:

• The system (including the outdoor unit and indoor units) must be new and listed on the list of heat pumps eligible for the program.

Eligible Work

The work must aim at installing an efficient heat pump for heating and air conditioning and be carried out by a company registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar, holding the appropriate licenses from the Quebec Building Authority (RBQ).

Ineligible Work

Some works are excluded, including the installation of devices outside of living spaces, partial replacement of an existing system, or a heat pump damaged, even if not covered by a warranty.

Financial Aid

Hydro-Québec offers financial aid for the purchase and installation of efficient heat pumps, subject to compliance with program requirements. The amount of aid is specified in the list of eligible heat pumps.

Application Process and Required Documents

To benefit from financial aid, applicants must provide:

• Proof of ownership: An electronic copy of the property tax statement or the first page of the deed of sale. For members of indigenous communities, a copy of the electricity bill or a letter of confirmation of property is required.
• Proof of purchase and installation: Copy of detailed invoices including all required information.
• Photo: A clear photo of the nameplate of each installed outdoor unit.
