Ten conditions. Answer and we’ll tell you where you stand.

2The home is in Québec, livable year-round and supplied by Hydro-Québec, an off-grid, municipal or co-op system.

3The home’s main heating system runs on electricity.

4The heat pump is new and ENERGY STAR certified.

5The outdoor unit is at least 12,000 BTU/h in cooling.

6It is bought in Québec, in store or online from a business with a Québec address.

7The installer is registered with the Registraire des entreprises and holds the required RBQ licences.

8All indoor units and ducts are inside the insulated part of the house.

9It is not the replacement of a single unit or coil, nor a replacement paid by a warranty or insurance.

10It is not a central heat pump in a home that already has a geothermal system.

Two different measures, in one application, both approved: Hydro-Québec adds 5% to the total granted.

The questions we get every week

How much will I get, exactly?

Take your combination’s heating capacity at -8 °C, divide by 1,000 and multiply by $50 (ENERGY STAR) or $120 (ENERGY STAR cold climate). A Sharp CHU 18,000 BTU wall unit delivers 22,600 BTU/h at -8 °C: 22.6 × $120 = $2,712. The grant cannot exceed 100% of the cost before taxes.

Where do I find my heat pump’s capacity at -8 °C?

In Hydro-Québec’s heat pump search tool, by AHRI number or ENERGY STAR ID. Every AirGreen product page also shows the AHRI number. If there is a discrepancy, Hydro-Québec’s list of eligible heat pumps prevails.

Is a 9,000 BTU wall unit eligible?

No. The system must include an outdoor unit with a rated cooling capacity of at least 12,000 BTU/h. A 9,000 BTU cold-climate unit gets $0.

Is a multi-zone system eligible?

Yes. The measure covers ductless mini-split heat pumps with one or more indoor units and one outdoor unit. The certified combination’s capacity at -8 °C sets the amount.

I’m a tenant. Am I entitled to anything?

Not for the heat pump: the grant is paid to the owner. A tenant can apply for the induction range and the heat pump dryer, $250 each.

Can I combine LogisVert with Rénoclimat?

Not for the same equipment. If Hydro-Québec or a government body has already paid a grant for that equipment or work, you cannot claim it again under LogisVert. Different programs can fund different work.

Does Chauffez vert still exist?

No. The Québec government grant for converting a central oil or propane system ended on March 31, 2026. The Canada Greener Homes Grant is also closed.

Can I get a free heat pump?

Hydro-Québec installs a cold-climate wall unit at no cost for modest-income households heated by baseboards and registered with the Éconologis program after September 30, 2025. Registration for the 2026-2027 season is closed; the rollout continues gradually from fall 2026.

How is the money paid? Is it taxable?

By mail, to your mailing address, 10 to 12 weeks after a complete application. Hydro-Québec issues an RL-27 slip when the grant is received in the course of operating a business or property, for example rental units. Talk to your accountant.

Can Hydro-Québec come and check?

Yes. Hydro-Québec can ask for more documents or schedule a compliance visit; you must give access to the home within 6 months of the application.

My heat pump was installed before November 26, 2025.

The rules in force on the installation date apply. But the 9-month window has passed for any installation before that date: the application is no longer accepted.
