- Buildings with 4 or more dwellings: no units on the walls unless built into the wall (0.25 m thick at most); on a balcony, use the side or rear one first, narrow side facing the street.
- Condos: noise is measured at the edge of the land reserved for the unit’s exclusive use.
- The city’s “Thermopompe” page (2019) still says 2 m: the bylaw as amended in 2026 requires 1.25 m.
