The Canada Greener Homes Grant has taken no new applications since February 2024, and the last date in Québec passed on September 30, 2025. A heat pump can still be subsidized, mostly through Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert. Answer three questions and we’ll show you what applies to you.

The old grant paid a fixed amount based on the number of heads. LogisVert pays based on the heat the unit delivers at -8 °C. Pick a system and compare.
The federal grant added up to $600 to cover the two EnerGuide evaluations. The two programs’ “cold climate” definitions are not identical. LogisVert never exceeds 100% of the cost before taxes. Indicative amounts.

No. New applications were accepted from May 2021 to February 2024. In Québec, where it was delivered with Rénoclimat, the last day to request the grant was September 30, 2025. Payment requests are no longer accepted.
For the federal grant, yes: the deadlines have passed (September 30, 2025 in Québec, December 31, 2025 for documents). If your heat pump was installed less than 9 months ago, look at LogisVert instead.
Yes. According to Natural Resources Canada, the closure does not affect loans already approved: your funding remains available.
Yes, but targeted: the Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program offers no-cost retrofits to low- and median-income households. In Québec, it runs through Hydro-Québec (LogisVert – Modest-income households) and a registration with Éconologis.
Not for the LogisVert heat pump: you apply with the invoice, proof of ownership and a nameplate photo. Rénoclimat, which funds insulation, doors and windows and ventilation, still requires an evaluation visit, and fees apply.
The heating capacity at -8 °C, divided by 1,000, multiplied by $120 for an ENERGY STAR cold-climate model ($50 otherwise). A Sharp CHU 18,000 BTU wall unit delivers 22,600 BTU/h at -8 °C: $2,712. A 3-ton MIDEA EVOX G3 central: $3,960.
Both conversion grants are closed: Chauffez vert on March 31, 2026, the federal OHPA program on July 31, 2026. Already registered with OHPA? Send your receipts and final attestation by January 31, 2027. For LogisVert, have Hydro-Québec confirm your case before you sign.
Énergir offers its Dual energy with heat pump grant to customers with central forced-air gas heating: up to $7,300 for a single-family house or condo, $8,600 for a duplex, $9,100 for a triplex, up to 80% of costs.
Yes, if your income is under the threshold and you heat with baseboards: Hydro-Québec’s free heat pump, with your landlord’s consent. LogisVert also pays $250 for an induction range or a heat pump dryer, to tenants and owners alike.

Hydro-Québec does no phone or door-to-door solicitation for LogisVert, and Natural Resources Canada has authorized no third party to solicit homeowners for its grant.
