Update, October 27, 2026: this grant no longer exists. The condensing boiler no longer appears among Énergir’s residential grants. For a home heated with natural gas by a boiler, Énergir now offers the dual-energy grant, hot-water stream: up to $4,100 for a house or condo and up to $4,800 for a duplex or triplex, to add an electric boiler or an air-to-water heat pump, plus up to $7,800 or $8,000 if the electrical service must be upgraded. Program ended: subsidy for a condensing boiler
Do you want to reduce your energy bill, in addition to saving on your natural gas consumption and increasing your comfort? Énergir used to subsidize efficient gas appliances, but this grant is no longer offered. It varied with the type of ENERGY STAR® qualified appliance selected.
The former condensing boiler grant:
The condensing boiler minimizes energy losses and quickly produces uniform heat in your home. As part of its energy efficiency program, Énergir offered a $900 grant to encourage its customers to consume energy more efficiently and responsibly. This amount reduced the difference between the cost of this high-performance ENERGY STAR® qualified system (energy efficiency of up to 95%) and the cost of a standard system. Indeed, if you apply a subsidy, it becomes much more advantageous to choose a more efficient system that will allow you to save on your energy costs. Former rebate on purchase and installation:
This rebate no longer appears among Énergir’s residential grants either. Énergir customers who used dual energy and replaced their heating system were eligible for a $300 rebate on the purchase price and installation cost of a new appliance.
