RenoClimat Grant Program

Renoclimat heat pump subsidy Quebec Montreal

RÉNOCLIMAT SUBSIDY PROGRAM

  • All residents of Greater Montreal and Quebec in general can fully benefit from a free home visit by a Rénoclimat advisor and receive personalized advice to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
  • Reduce your annual energy consumption and Hydro-Québec bills in the long term while improving your home's comfort.
  • Receive financial assistance of up to $5,000.

You may be eligible for financial assistance from the Government of Quebec through the Rénoclimat program if you carry out:

  • insulation work;
  • sealing work;
  • replacement of doors and windows;
  • installation or replacement of mechanical systems (ventilation system, water heater, heat pump, air conditioning and heating system, and geothermal system).

If you are eligible, we encourage you to take advantage of the Rénoclimat program for your home renovation work. You could save up to $5,000 following the installation or complete replacement of an ENERGY STAR® certified wall-mounted or central air heat pump for heating and cooling. Valid until December 31, 2023. The Rénoclimat program applies to those who have multiple renovation works to carry out such as insulation, door and window replacement, and replacement of an ENERGY STAR® wall-mounted or central heat pump.

The amount of financial assistance will depend on the heating capacity under winter conditions of the installed system. Naturally, the higher the heating capacity of the installed heat pump, the greater the subsidy granted will be proportionally. The exact amount of financial assistance offered for each model is indicated in the list of eligible heat pumps from the Government of Quebec. The calculation is simple: the financial assistance is $50 for each thousand BTU of heating at -8°C, not to be confused with the total BTU capacity of your device.

The government offers a program enhancement by providing up to $5,000 for devices offering high energy efficiency, valid until December 31, 2023. Be sure to carefully read all eligibility criteria in the Participant Guide of the Quebec Government’s Rénoclimat Program (Effective September 1, 2022).

At AirGreen, we strongly believe that installing an ENERGY STAR® certified system is an excellent investment that will help your budget. Indeed, in addition to allowing you to benefit from an excellent subsidy, our ENERGY STAR® systems will bring you significant savings on your heating costs: you get double savings.

Attention, it is absolutely necessary to call an ÉnerGuide evaluator BEFORE and AFTER your renovation work. They must come on-site, perform an inspection, offer you advice, then return to verify. Without the two visits from the government technician, you unfortunately will not be able to receive financial assistance. Also, there are usually delays associated with scheduling a visit, so plan ahead, especially during the busy summer season.

If you want to be eligible for the subsidy as well as your heat pump warranty, the work must absolutely be completed by a professional company with all its RBQ licenses, such as AirGreen.
