DamperIt defrosts without depressurizing the house
In cold weather, a motorized damper closes the outdoor air intake and recirculates indoor air through the core to thaw it. The house doesn't go into negative pressure during the cycle: no cold air drawn in through leaks, and none of the imbalance manufacturers warn about when there's a fireplace or a combustion appliance.

Warranty
The K8 HRV is protected by a 5-year warranty on parts only. The heat recovery core is covered by a limited lifetime warranty, with the original proof of purchase required for warranty service.
Controls
The K8 HRV is straightforward and user-friendly. Once installed, simply press its push-button located on the top left side of the unit to select high speed, low speed, or stop. The LED located under the push button will indicate which mode the unit is in. For more convenience, the unit can also be controlled by an optional main control.
Options
The K8 HRV offers a complete line of registers and diffusers and an electrical duct heater. It is also compatible with the exclusive wall mounting bracket (no. 19255).
Heat Recovery Core
The K8 HRV features a heat recovery core that measures 10” x 10” x 5.5” and weighs only 4 lbs. This crossflow core is made of polypropylene, offering durability and efficient heat transfer. The heat recovery core comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
Requirements and Standards
The K8 HRV complies with several important requirements and standards. It meets UL 1812 requirements for heat recovery ventilators, CSA C22.2 no. 113 standard applicable to ventilators, and CSA F326 requirements for the installation of heat recovery ventilators. The unit's performance has been tested according to CSA C439 Standards and is HVI certified.
