Simply put, Plasmacluster ions are molecules of water and oxygen present in the air, but in a different form.
The Process of Generating Plasmacluster Ions
The generation of Plasmacluster ions is done in two steps. First, through a plasma discharge, the water and oxygen molecules in the air are ionized. Plasma discharge is a process in which a voltage is applied to the discharge electrode, thus generating positive hydrogen ions (H⁺) and negative oxygen ions (O₂⁻).
Then, these ions will attract the water molecules present in the air (H₂O) due to their electric charge, thus forming stable cluster ions. This structure resembles a grape cluster, hence the name "Plasmacluster". This is also why the Plasmacluster logo looks like a grape cluster.
The Working Mechanism of Plasmacluster Ions
Plasmacluster ions have an inhibitory effect on viruses and other harmful substances in the air. The positive (H⁺) and negative (O₂⁻) ions bind to the surface of viruses and other substances and transform into OH radicals. These OH radicals, endowed with extremely strong oxidation power, quickly extract hydrogen (H) from the protein on the surface of viruses and other substances, thus decomposing the protein and suppressing activity. The surface of bacteria and allergens is mainly composed of proteins. By removing the hydrogen atom (H) from this structure, the undesirable substance is deactivated. Moreover, the OH radical binds to the hydrogen atom (H) to immediately form water (H₂O), which is returned to the air.
Plasmacluster technology also offers the advantage of removing static electricity. Plasmacluster's positive and negative ions react with positive and negative charges respectively, thus eliminating static electricity.
