A precise diagnosis for restored performance in a Laval residence
At AirGreen , we were recently contacted for an HVAC service call in Sainte-Dorothée , a residential neighborhood in Laval known for its modern homes. The customer contacted us after noticing that their Lennox wall-mounted heat pump was no longer cooling efficiently, despite a normal display on the remote.
Symptoms observed
The client explained that:
-
The unit was blowing warm air instead of cold air;
-
The outdoor compressor seemed to be running intermittently;
-
And a significant temperature difference persisted between the rooms.
These symptoms could indicate a lack of refrigerant , a clogged coil , or a malfunction of the electronic card .
Initial inspection and diagnostic tools
Upon our arrival, we carried out a series of standard tests:
-
Checking the electrical current and communication signal between the indoor and outdoor units;
-
Control of air flow and blowing temperature using a professional infrared thermometer .
The photo above illustrates this key moment in the diagnosis: measuring the air temperature at the unit outlet . The device indicated a stable value of around 10.5°C , confirming that the system was producing cold—but with a notable loss of performance compared to the nominal specifications.
In-depth diagnosis: the cause identified
After complete analysis:
-
The indoor coil showed signs of fouling , limiting heat exchange;
-
The refrigeration circuit pressure measured outside revealed a slight deficit in the R410A refrigerant charge ;
-
No active leaks were detected during the nitrogen test—a good sign that allowed for correction without major component replacement .
Technical intervention
Our certified team carried out the following operations:
-
Complete cleaning of the interior coil using a biodegradable, no-rinse product that is safe for homes.
-
Degreasing and cleaning of the tangential fan to remove dust and pollen deposits.
-
Calibrated recharge with R410A refrigerant , with verification of static and dynamic pressure according to external conditions.
-
Reset the electronic module and check the automatic defrost cycles.
Measured result: performance restored
Once the intervention was completed, the air outlet temperature dropped to 5.6°C , demonstrating excellent cooling efficiency . This drop of almost 5°C compared to the initial value confirms the return to performance in accordance with Lennox standards .
The customer immediately noticed better distribution of cold in his living room and bedroom, with a significant reduction in the time needed to reach the comfort temperature.
Recommended good maintenance practices
To prevent this type of problem from recurring, we advised the customer to:
-
Clean air filters every 3 to 4 weeks during the summer season;
-
Maintain a clear space around the outdoor unit to promote ventilation;
-
Schedule annual preventative maintenance by an AirGreen certified technician.
These simple actions not only ensure the longevity of the system, but also a significant reduction in energy consumption .
AirGreen expertise: precision and transparency
Each intervention we carry out is based on three essential pillars:
-
Rigorous diagnosis with certified instruments;
-
Transparency of results (photos, measurements, clear explanations);
-
Sustainable solutions tailored to each client.
We believe that trust is built through proof of performance —and every measurement, every test performed in front of the customer strengthens that relationship.
