How does the LogisVert program differ from older programs like Chauffez Vert?

With the arrival of Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program , a new era is dawning in subsidies for efficient heat pumps and energy efficiency work. This new program, launched in 2024, replaces and improves older programs like Chauffez Vert , offering a more comprehensive, flexible approach that is better adapted to the realities of the Quebec residential market.

A Paradigm Shift in HVAC Subsidies

Unlike Chauffez Vert , which primarily focused on replacing fossil fuel heating systems, LogisVert focuses on overall energy efficiency and improving the thermal performance of homes. The program is no longer limited to a simple system conversion: it also rewards homeowners who invest in several combined energy-efficient measures , such as installing an efficient heat pump AND caulking work.

A wider reach, for more types of residences

Chauffez Vert primarily targeted single-family homes. LogisVert removes this barrier. It applies to a much wider range of housing:

• Houses (single-family, semi-detached, row houses, mobile homes)

• Co-ownerships

• Multiplex

• Residential buildings with up to 19 units

• Individual apartments in buildings with 20 or more dwellings , if each unit has an individual electricity meter

This extension is crucial for densely populated areas like Montreal or Laval , where condominiums and apartment buildings dominate.

Improved and better targeted eligible measures

Installation of an efficient or high-efficiency heat pump

Heat pumps (central or wall-mounted) are at the heart of the LogisVert program. For a model to be eligible, it must appear on the official list of eligible heat pumps published by Hydro-Québec and meet specific requirements, including energy performance measured at -8°C.

👉 Financial aid :

• Efficient heat pump : Amount depends on the model (e.g.: $1,704 for an 18,000 BTU unit, such as the Gree Extreme or the Fujitsu KZAH).

• High-efficiency heat pump + caulking : $140 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8°C. So, for an 18,000 BTU model: $2,520 subsidy.

Complete caulking work

Another new feature: caulking work is now subsidized, provided that it is carried out wherever air leaks are possible (windows, doors, vents, attic hatches, fireplaces, etc.).

👉 Financial assistance : Up to $1,500 for complete work, when combined with a high-efficiency heat pump.

Bonus for multiple measurements

A major innovation of the LogisVert program is the 5% financing bonus , granted if you carry out at least two eligible measures in the same application (e.g.: heat pump + induction cooker).

👉 Concrete example:

• Heat pump: $1,704

• Induction cooker: $250

• Total: $1,954 + 5% bonus = $2,051.70

Technical details and eligibility

General conditions for any measure

• The building must be residential , located in Quebec , and connected to a recognized electrical system.

• The work must be carried out by a company registered with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec and holding a valid RBQ license .

• The equipment installed must be new , purchased in Quebec , and installed in a dwelling inhabited year-round .

• The program is open to owners AND tenants (for certain measures).

Deadline for filing an application

The application must be submitted within 9 months of the installation of the first measure. Any delay may render the grant invalid .

In February 2025, our team installed an 18,000 BTU Fujitsu KZAH R-32 wall-mounted heat pump in a Montreal duplex. The client also had all windows and exterior doors re-caulked. Thanks to the LogisVert program, they received:
