Two names on our product pages, one manufacturer

RunTru is the residential line that Trane describes as designed, built and tested by Trane. Warranties for both are issued by Trane U.S., Inc. and cover Canada. Here is what carries each name in our catalogue.

LogisVert: neither series is on Hydro-Québec’s list of October 7, 2026, and a 9,000 BTU/h unit is below the program’s 12,000 BTU/h minimum.

A Trane central system has three parts. Choose them one by one.

The outdoor unit, the indoor air handler that blows air through your ducts, and the thermostat. Choose a series and a tonnage: each part shows with its model and product page, and the LogisVert grant appears only when Hydro-Québec lists that pairing.

We looked up each of our Trane systems in Hydro-Québec’s tool on October 7, 2026. Only the A5HP5 + A5AHV pairings are there, at $50 per 1,000 BTU/h at -8 °C, since they are ENERGY STAR certified without the “cold climate” designation. Tap a row to see the calculation.

06 · RunTru electric furnaces

What we call an “electric furnace” is a RunTru air handler with heating elements

RunTru sells these units as air handlers: a fan and a coil, heat-pump compatible, into which an electric heater kit is installed on site. They replace the furnace and provide backup heat for the central heat pump.

Registered within 60 days: 10 years on coils and parts, and 12 years on the XL15c (4WCZ5) compressor. Otherwise, 5 years. Terms are shorter for commercial use (Trane warranty GW-PKGD-2401A, April 2024).

Winter with a PTAC: what heats at which temperature?

According to Trane’s R-32 PTAC manual, the heat pump heats when it is 13 to 23.9 °C outside. Colder than that, the electric element takes over. Slide to see.

Trane warranty on the R-32 PTAC5 years on parts and 5 years of sealed-system replacement (manual PART-SVX007A-EN, Sept. 2024). For the R-410A version: 5 years on parts and 1 year of unit replacement (Trane bulletin, June 2020).
R-32 in a PTACTrane states that this refrigerant is flammable and odourless: installation follows the manufacturer’s manual. AirGreen holds RBQ subclass 15.10 (refrigeration).
