A clean and discreet installation project in a renovated home
At AirGreen , we recently completed the installation of a Sharp wall-mounted air conditioner in a newly renovated apartment in Saint-Léonard , a residential area undergoing major renovations. The client had just completed a complete overhaul of their kitchen and living room, and wanted a quiet, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing HVAC system capable of maintaining optimal comfort throughout the year.
Project context: an open space to be efficiently air-conditioned
The apartment featured a classic Saint-Léonard building layout: an open-plan kitchen and living room, concrete load-bearing walls, and standard 8-foot ceilings. The main challenge was to position the indoor unit to ensure even air distribution without compromising the aesthetics of the renovations.
After inspection, we determined that the central wall separating the kitchen and living room offered an ideal location: clear, solid, and aligned with the future path of the refrigeration ducts to the exterior.
Choice of device: Sharp, reliability and sobriety
The customer opted for a Sharp 12,000 BTU model , known for:
-
its quiet operation (noise level less than 23 dB);
-
its high energy efficiency (SEER 22);
-
and its discreet design perfectly suited to modern interiors.
This model, compatible with DC Inverter technology, allows substantial energy savings while ensuring constant thermal stability, whether for air conditioning in summer or additional heating in winter.
Step 1: Prepare and install the wall mount
Our RBQ-certified technicians began by locating the structural studs in order to securely anchor the indoor unit support.
The freshly painted wall was protected with anti-static film to prevent dust from entering. Once the mounting plate was installed, the Sharp appliance was carefully positioned to maximize airflow to the kitchen and living room.
Step 2: Drilling the wall and passing the conduits
The wall was drilled using a precision hole saw , with a slight outward slope to facilitate the flow of condensate.
We then spent:
-
insulated copper pipes (liquid and gas line);
-
14/4 shielded communication cable ;
-
the condensate drain ;
-
and the power supply cable connected to the dedicated circuit breaker.
On the outside, the conduits were protected by a rigid white thermoplastic sheath , perfectly harmonized with the facade, ensuring a neat finish.
Step 3: Install the outdoor condenser
The Sharp condenser was installed on an existing concrete base, reinforced with anti-vibration mounts to ensure stability and reduce operating noise.
Particular attention has been paid to wall spacing to ensure good ventilation and avoid any recirculation of hot air, an essential element to preserve the performance of the compressor.
Step 4: Commissioning and Calibration
Once all connections were secured, our technician proceeded to:
-
a vacuum draw of the refrigeration circuit to eliminate humidity and air;
-
verification of the refrigerant charge (R410A, compliant with environmental standards);
-
leak testing using an electronic detector;
-
and calibration of the integrated thermostat .
The system was then turned on: the airflow was powerful, the temperature dropped quickly and the noise level remained imperceptible, even at full power.
Step 5: explanations and advice to the customer
As with every installation, our team took the time to explain to the customer:
-
Sharp Smart Remote Control Operation;
-
Auto Inverter mode to automatically adjust power according to ambient temperature;
-
good maintenance practices, including cleaning filters every three months and annual professional maintenance to maintain warranty and energy efficiency.
We also emphasized the importance of regular after-sales service , especially before the summer period, in order to ensure the comfort and durability of the system.
Result: discreet comfort, exemplary installation
The installation took place without any impact on the interior finishes. The Sharp wall-mounted air conditioner blends perfectly into the minimalist space of the home.
The customer immediately noticed the quiet operation and responsiveness of the system , capable of lowering the temperature of the living room-kitchen from 27°C to 22°C in less than 15 minutes.
