A modern comfort solution in a bright condo
At AirGreen , we recently completed the installation of a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump in a condo located in Laval-des-Rapides . The project took place in a bright space with large windows, an environment where managing heat and cold can be a challenge. The owner wanted an energy-efficient , quiet and discreet solution that could blend harmoniously into her interior while maximizing comfort in all seasons.
Why choose a Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pump?
Fujitsu wall-mounted heat pumps are renowned for their performance in northern climates. Adapted to Quebec's harsh winters, they maintain high efficiency even when the outdoor temperature drops below -25°C. The model installed here, with a capacity of 12,000 BTUs , offers a perfect balance for medium-sized rooms such as the living room or master bedroom of a condo.
-
Energy efficiency : seasonal performance (SEER2 and HSPF2) meets the requirements of Quebec subsidy programs.
-
Quiet operation : an essential asset in a compact urban space.
-
Clean design : fits perfectly above the curtains without disturbing the aesthetics of the room.
Key steps of installation
The installation was carefully planned to avoid any impact on the interior design and to ensure optimal durability.
-
Choice of location
The interior header was mounted above the main window, a strategic location to ensure good air circulation in the room. -
Drilling through the wall and passing the lines
The refrigeration and electrical connections were routed to the exterior through a discreet opening. The use of white capping helped to camouflage the route and harmonize the whole with the color of the walls. -
Condensate management
The water was drained by gravity, thus avoiding the need for a condensate pump, which simplifies future maintenance and reduces the risk of breakdown. -
Electrical connection
A dedicated circuit was run to the condo's electrical panel, in accordance with current standards. -
Commissioning and calibration
Our technicians evacuated the lines, charged them with refrigerant, and then performed performance tests. The system was optimized to ensure maximum performance from the first use.
Constraints encountered and solutions provided
In this project, two challenges arose:
-
Limited access to the exterior walls due to the condo's structure. We opted for a minimalist opening allowing for a short and direct route for the refrigeration lines.
-
Preserving interior aesthetics : Since the unit is installed above the curtains, we have taken care to maintain sufficient clearance so that air circulation is not obstructed.
These adjustments allowed for a discreet and efficient installation, perfectly meeting the client's expectations.
Results obtained
The difference was felt right from the start:
-
Immediate comfort thanks to even air distribution.
-
Anticipated reduction in energy bills , with the heat pump partially replacing energy-consuming electric baseboards.
-
Eligibility for grants , since the Fujitsu model installed meets the criteria of the programs available in Laval, Longueuil, Montreal, on the North Shore and the South Shore.
