In this modern condo in Southwest Montreal, our AirGreen team was tasked with enhancing year-round comfort while preserving the warm aesthetic of the space. Bathed in natural light, the area features a mezzanine living room with glass railings, a music corner with an upright piano, and several live plants.
To meet the heating and cooling needs of this open area, we installed aSharp wall-mounted heat pump , Sharp ZU1 model of approximately 18,000 BTU , perfectly suited to the lifestyle of the occupants and the Montreal climate.

The condo has several distinctive features:

The unit is located at a safe distance from the windows , avoiding constraints related to air infiltration and thermal bridges.

We have respected the clearances recommended by the manufacturer in relation to the ceiling and side walls, to ensure good air circulation and facilitate maintenance.

The unit is installed above an open space (near the glass railing), which reduces the risk of furniture obstructing airflow.
Result: the heat pump efficiently distributes heat in winter and coolness in summer, without creating unpleasant drafts for occupants sitting in the living room or at the piano.
Technical installation details
Even though we only see the internal unit here, several technical points have been taken into account:

Drilling and routing of refrigerant lines directly behind the wall head, allowing a short and optimized route to the outdoor unit.

Decorative sheaths used outdoors to conceal refrigeration pipes and wiring, and to protect everything from the elements.

Condensate drain management with an adequate slope to ensure gravity flow, thus avoiding any risk of water leakage inside.

Installation of the Sharp outdoor unit on a suitable support (floor base or wall bracket depending on the layout), with anti-vibration pads to minimize noise and resonance.

Dedicated electrical connection , compliant with the Canadian Electrical Code, sized according to the power of the heat pump and protected at the panel.
