A successful HVAC installation project in a typical Montreal brick building
In the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood, we recently installed a Sharp Eco Inverter wall-mounted heat pump . This project perfectly illustrates our AirGreen team's ability to integrate a modern heating and air conditioning (HVAC) system into a brick-facade Montreal building, while respecting space and aesthetic constraints.
Installation context
The client, owner of a plex in Rosemont, wanted to modernize his home comfort system to reduce his energy costs and improve indoor air quality. After analyzing his needs, we recommended the installation of a Sharp Eco Inverter wall-mounted heat pump , a model known for its stable performance, its Plasmacluster Ion technology for air purification, and its ability to maintain optimal efficiency even during Montreal's cold winters.
Technical details of the Sharp heat pump
-
Brand : Sharp
-
Model : Eco Inverter (wall-mounted series)
-
Technology : Plasmacluster Ion for healthier air
-
Type : Wall-mounted heat pump (mini-split)
-
Support : Fixing on sturdy wall brackets
-
Power supply : Direct connection to the panel via a secure junction box
-
Benefits : High energy efficiency, quiet operation, built-in purification technology
This system is eligible for certain grant programs available to residents of Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the North Shore and the South Shore , because it meets the energy efficiency criteria required by Hydro-Québec and Transition Énergétique Québec.
Installation Steps
-
Site preparation :
After inspecting the rear brick facade, we identified the optimal location for the outdoor unit to ensure good airflow and easy maintenance. -
Installation of the outdoor unit :
The Sharp unit was mounted on reinforced wall brackets to ensure long-term stability, even in Montreal's weather conditions (snow, frost, wind). -
Electrical connection :
Metal conduit was used to secure the cables to the junction box, ensuring an installation that complies with electrical safety standards. -
Passage of refrigerant pipes :
The connections were carefully insulated and installed in a discreet manner to preserve the aesthetics of the building. -
Commissioning and testing :
Once the connections were checked, we proceeded to the performance tests: air circulation, temperature regulation and energy efficiency.
Constraints and solutions provided
-
Space constraints : The rear facade being narrow, it was necessary to limit the footprint. Solution: installation on wall brackets.
-
Building aesthetics : The client wanted to preserve the harmony of its facade. The solution: discreet routing of conduits and electrical boxes painted tone on tone.
-
Winter Protection : We've incorporated reinforced fasteners and adequate clearance to prevent snow buildup and facilitate drainage.
Results obtained
Thanks to this installation, the customer now benefits from:
-
Four-season comfort (heating in winter, air conditioning in summer).
-
A reduction in energy bills thanks to inverter technology.
-
Purified air thanks to the Plasmacluster system.
-
A discreet and durable installation , adapted to the realities of a Montreal plex.
