At AirGreen , we recently installed a Sharp ZU1 wall-mounted heat pump in a charming duplex in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie area of Montreal. This neighborhood, characterized by its yellow brick walls and quiet alleyways, is home to many homes requiring efficient, low-noise heating and cooling solutions that are aesthetically integrated into their surroundings.

The Sharp ZU1 , part of the new generation of R-32 heat pumps, is known for its quiet operation, inverter technology and stable performance down to -25 °C , ideal for Montreal's climate. Its 12,000 BTU capacity perfectly meets the needs of a medium-sized home, offering an optimal balance between power and energy efficiency.
Careful integration adapted to the space
This outdoor unit was installed in a narrow side yard, a typical Rosemont home. We opted for a raised galvanized steel stand , ensuring stability and protecting the unit from moisture and ground debris.
The wiring and refrigerant pipes were carefully concealed along the brick wall, with discreet cladding ensuring both safety and aesthetics. The technicians also took care to securely fasten the insulated pipes using suitable clamps, ensuring the system's longevity even in the face of temperature fluctuations.
Optimizing performance in urban environments
One of the main challenges of this project was managing the limited space and airflow between the buildings. To address this, our team chose a configuration that allowed for optimal clearance around the condenser , ensuring the necessary ventilation for maximum efficiency without overheating.
Gravity drainage was installed, avoiding the need for a condensate pump and thus simplifying future maintenance of the system.
An installation that complies with Quebec energy standards
This installation fully meets the energy efficiency standards required by grant programs such as Rénoclimat and Chauffez vert , thanks to the R-32 refrigerant, which is more environmentally friendly than the old R-410A. The owner will therefore be able to benefit from an advantageous financial credit , while reducing his carbon footprint.
