Varennes heat pump grant: the City adds 25% to your LogisVert cheque
You have a heat pump installed and Hydro-Québec pays you LogisVert. If you own a home in Varennes, the City adds 25% of the amount received, up to $3,000 per home per year. The 2026 catch is the calendar: the application is filed before December 31, with a copy of the cheque.

The LogisVert cheque has to arrive before December 31
Varennes wants a copy of the cheque, and LogisVert pays 10 to 12 weeks after a complete application. Enter the installation date: we estimate the rest, all the way to the City’s cheque.

How much does the City of Varennes add to LogisVert?
25% of the amount received from LogisVert for eligible measures (heat pump, roof insulation, pool), up to $3,000 per home per year. Example: a Sharp CHU 18,000 BTU gets $2,712 from LogisVert, then $678 from Varennes, for $3,390 in total.
Who can apply?
The owner of a residential building located in Varennes. A tenant cannot apply.
Which form do I use on the City’s website?
For the 25% on LogisVert, Rénoclimat or Chauffez vert: the “Programme Rénoclimat 2026” link on the City’s financial assistance page, even for a LogisVert heat pump. For thermostats and the other eco-actions: the “Programme Habitation durable 2026” link. Both forms are in French.
When and how do I apply?
After you receive the LogisVert cheque, before December 31, 2026. Send the signed form with a copy of the cheque and its stub by email to habitationdurable@ville.varennes.qc.ca, or by mail: Programme Habitation durable, Ville de Varennes, 175 rue Sainte-Anne, Varennes (Québec) J3X 1T5.
Is there still money left?
The City does not publish the balance. The form says the top-up is available until the budget runs out. On September 23, 2026, no notice that the money had run out was posted on the program page.
My LogisVert cheque will arrive in January 2027. What now?
The 2026 form must be filed before December 31, 2026, and no 2027 program has been published. Ask the City’s sustainable development office at 450 652-9888, ext. 1301.
How long does the City take to pay?
By mail, within 120 days of a complete file.
Does a wall heat pump qualify?
Yes. LogisVert’s heat pump measure covers ENERGY STAR certified wall, multi-zone and central units, and Varennes tops up the “efficient heat pump”. The LogisVert amount depends on the heating capacity at -8 °C.
Who has to install the heat pump?
LogisVert requires a business registered with the Registraire des entreprises, holding the appropriate RBQ licences and a member of its trade corporation. AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 (subclasses 15.8, 15.10 and 16) and is a CMEQ member.
Can the top-up affect my LogisVert grant?
The LogisVert guide asks you not to submit another grant application for the same equipment to Hydro-Québec or to “government bodies”. The Varennes top-up is municipal and designed to come on top of the LogisVert cheque: the City asks for a copy of it. For written confirmation: LogisVert support, 1 833 396-1888.
What about thermostats?
It is another part of the same program (eco-action 1): $20 per new programmable or smart thermostat, at least 4, or 50% of the price of a Hilo smart home kit (purchase of at least $50). Habitation durable form, invoice and before-and-after photos. This amount counts toward the same $3,000 cap.
What does the $3,000 cap cover?
Everything the City pays to one home in the year under the Habitation durable program: the 25% top-up and the eco-actions. A single home heat pump does not reach it: among our examples, the most is $1,350 (MIDEA EVOX G3, 5 tons).
What about Rénoclimat?
Rénoclimat has not paid for heat pumps since May 1, 2024: that is LogisVert. It pays, for example, $500 for an air exchanger (HRV or ERV), if the EnerGuide rating goes up by at least one point. Varennes adds 25% on presentation of the cheque or stub and the final evaluation.
Does Chauffez vert still count?
The program has not accepted applications since March 31, 2026. The Varennes 2026 form still provides for 25% on a Chauffez vert cheque received, with an application to the City before December 31, 2026.
