It is common for a Halcyon (GENERAL or Fujitsu) ducted unit, cassette or ceiling unit to be run by a wired wall controller. The GENERAL AIRSTAGE FJ-RC-WIFI-1BT wired Wi-Fi module takes advantage of that wiring: connected to the indoor unit's wired remote control interface, it lets you control the unit by phone, and your wall controller stays in place. This GENERAL module and the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE-branded FJ-RC-WIFI-1BT are one and the same (see the same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand). Why the two names: Fujitsu General Limited, bought by Paloma Rheem Holdings, took the name GENERAL Inc. on January 1, 2026, keeping the same manufacturer, the same factories, the same AIRSTAGE products and the same model numbers. The Fujitsu brand is fading out little by little in favour of GENERAL, and AirGreen, an authorized GENERAL and Fujitsu AIRSTAGE dealer, sells the part under either name during the transition.

On the wired remote port, without touching the controller

Intesis builds it on the manufacturer's behalf. No separate power supply is needed: the indoor unit feeds it through its remote control interface, at 12 VDC and 55 mA. For the wiring, we use 3-conductor stranded cable, 18 to 22 AWG. At 108 x 70 x 28 mm, the housing mounts on the wall or above the ceiling, which lets it vanish near a ducted unit.

The connection to the home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi goes through Bluetooth-assisted registration: a few steps from the module, your phone hands it the network settings, and that is it. With the network found, over to the Intesis AC Cloud Control app: equipment control, monitoring and schedule programming are all gathered there. It also gets along with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, passes the unit's errors on to you and keeps itself up to date over the Internet. When a wired controller is installed, the room temperature shows up in the app as a bonus.

The FJ-RC-WIFI-1BT is designed for the ABU, ASU, AGU, AUU and ARU series, Halcyon and AIRSTAGE. Some units need one more accessory: a UTY-XCBXZ2 or UTY-TWBXF1 interface kit, or a UTY-WIFI wiring kit. Wired, infrared or CN65 port

Among the Intesis modules made for the manufacturer, each has its own way in: infrared for the FJ-IR-WIFI-1NA, which needs no wiring, the CN65 port of certain units for the FJ-AC-WIFI-1, and the wired remote control port for the FJ-RC-WIFI-1BT. When a ducted unit or a cassette already has its wall controller, this last module is often the most logical choice; and since everything goes through the wire, no line of sight is needed. Another plus: thanks to Bluetooth, commissioning is simpler.

Installation, step by step

It all starts with identifying the unit's model and, if needed, installing the required kit. The 3-conductor cable is then run to a spot where the Wi-Fi signal is good; the module is mounted there, registered by Bluetooth and linked to the app. All that remains is to set your schedules together and, if you wish, to pair it with Google Home or Alexa.

Maintenance

The module needs no maintenance. A new router or a new password only means redoing the Bluetooth registration from the app. If it is installed above the ceiling, make sure the housing stays reachable. As for the error alerts you receive, they also serve as a cue for organizing the unit's maintenance.
