Slim duct units, compact cassettes and floor consoles tend to be forgotten: they get installed in a ceiling, at the back of a closet or in the basement. All the more reason to control them remotely. The GENERAL AIRSTAGE UTY-TFSXJ4 Wi-Fi module connects these AIRSTAGE indoor units, GENERAL or Fujitsu, to the AIRSTAGE Mobile app, so your heating and cooling system can then be run from your phone. It is the same part as the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE module: Fujitsu General Limited has been called GENERAL Inc. since January 1, 2026.

The manufacturer, acquired by Paloma Rheem Holdings, has kept its factories, its AIRSTAGE products and its model numbers; the Fujitsu brand, meanwhile, is gradually stepping back behind GENERAL. During the transition, the part exists under both names, and AirGreen, an authorized GENERAL and Fujitsu AIRSTAGE dealer, lets you choose between this GENERAL model and the same part under the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE brand.

A Wi-Fi interface for ducted units, cassettes and consoles

The USB module for wall-mounted units plugs in; the UTY-TFSXJ4, on the other hand, is a wired interface. It connects to the indoor unit and draws its power from the unit's 12 V output, with no external power supply at all. It then joins the home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). Its housing stays compact: 3.75 x 1.5 x 0.56 in., for a weight of 0.1 lb.

Minimum heating, a feature made for our winters

Of all the features offered, minimum heating is the one that owners of cottages, vacant rental units or businesses closed for the winter should look at closely. It holds a base temperature in an unoccupied building, enough to protect the plumbing and the finishes against the cold without paying for comfort nobody is enjoying. From the app, you see that the unit is running and you raise the setpoint before you arrive.

The weekly timer takes care of your schedules, and the error display warns you when the unit reports an anomaly: the service visit can then be planned without waiting. A single AIRSTAGE Mobile account can bring together up to 50 indoor units, which is very useful in a rental building or a business with several zones. For voice control, the module works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

Compatibility confirmed unit by unit

This module was designed first for non-wall-mounted units. Some wall-mounted units from earlier generations may accept it too, but it all depends on each model's circuit board. That is why our technicians confirm the exact model number of each of your indoor units before ordering anything. For a recent wall-mounted heat pump, the UTY-TFSXH4 USB module is generally the right choice.

Take a house that combines a ducted unit upstairs and wall-mounted units on the ground floor: both types of modules can live in the same AIRSTAGE Mobile account. The whole house is then controlled from a single app, room by room or as a group, with a schedule of its own for each zone according to how it is used.

Installation by our technicians

The module connects inside the unit. That means opening the unit's electrical panel, plugging into the right connector and mounting the module where the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough, which is not always a given in a ceiling or a basement. Our technicians take care of everything: they pair the module with the app, configure the weekly timer and, for a cottage or vacant premises, the minimum heating function. Every command is then tested from your phone.

Maintenance

No maintenance is required for the module itself. All it takes is keeping the app up to date, and pairing the module again after a router change. On a ducted unit or a cassette, the priority remains maintenance of the filters and the drain, and the error display in the app helps you let nothing slip by.
