Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner repair in Côte-des-Neiges

A quick service call for comfort restored in Montreal

At AirGreen , we were recently called to work in an apartment in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhood of Montreal. The client contacted us after noticing that their Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner was no longer cooling the room properly, despite an external compressor that appeared to be operating normally. The indoor unit, installed high up near the ceiling, was diffusing lukewarm air even in maximum cooling mode.

Diagnosis: Loss of efficiency and obstruction of airflow

Upon our arrival, our technician carried out the basic checks:

  • R-32 refrigerant gas pressure : slightly lower than the recommended standard.

  • Air filters : very dirty, severely limiting air circulation.

  • Evaporator : traces of dust and beginning of icing, a direct consequence of lack of maintenance.

After cleaning the filters and inspecting the coil, we confirmed a small leak at a flare fitting at the outlet of the wall-mounted unit. This type of problem is common when the original installation has experienced repeated vibration or slight movement of the copper pipe.

Repair carried out

Our technicians have:

  1. Tightened and resealed the connection using a calibrated tightening torque.

  2. Performed a nitrogen leak test to ensure pressure resistance.

  3. Complete vacuum extraction of the refrigeration circuit.

  4. Recharged the system with the exact amount of R-32 , according to Fujitsu specifications.

  5. Cleaned the indoor coils with biodegradable foam to restore heat exchange.

Once the unit was put back into service, it immediately returned to a blowing temperature of 10°C at the air outlet , a sign of optimal performance .

Result: fresh air and a reassured customer

In less than two hours, the Fujitsu wall-mounted air conditioner was back to full performance. The customer, who had feared a major compressor failure, was relieved to learn that it was simply a minor leak combined with a lack of maintenance.

We recommended that he have his wall unit cleaned once a year to avoid:

  • Loss of energy efficiency;

  • Mold growth on the evaporator;

  • The risks of leaks or accumulation of condensate.
