A Quietside outdoor unit installed high up: a service call where access, system age, and electrical diagnosis made all the difference
In Bois-des-Filions, AirGreen was called for a Quietside wall-mounted heat pump that was no longer delivering the expected performance. The outdoor unit, visible in the photo, was installed high on a brick wall, under the soffit, on metal wall brackets. This type of installation is common in homes where ground space is limited, but it makes every service call more challenging: high access, limited clearance, exposure to weather, vibrations transmitted to the wall, and the need to carefully inspect refrigerant lines, wiring, and the condition of the condenser.
The machine was a Quietside wall-mounted heat pump, connected to an indoor mini-split unit. The exact model and BTU capacity were not clearly visible in the image, but the size of the outdoor unit corresponds to a common residential wall-mounted heat pump, generally used to cool and heat a main area of the house. The client had noticed three main symptoms: the heat pump started irregularly, the outdoor fan sometimes seemed hesitant, and the cooling performance had become weaker than before. We inspected:
