In summer, the outdoor unit rejects the house's heat outside.

  1. Mounted level on a wall plate, high enough for the air to reach the whole room, with enough space around it to slide the filters out easily.

  2. The refrigerant lines, the communication cable and the drain go through the wall in a single opening, sealed against water, cold air and insects.

  3. Two insulated copper pipes connect the two units. Outside, a line cover can protect them from sun, knocks and weather.

  4. A shut-off switch near the outdoor unit isolates it safely for service. It must stay accessible at all times.

  5. The compressor and the fan. In heating mode it captures heat from the outdoor air, even in winter, and moves it inside.

  6. On the ground or on the wall, it keeps the unit above accumulated snow. The unit stays clear and defrost water can drain away.

  7. The fan needs to blow freely. Storage, a fence or a wall too close, and efficiency drops while noise goes up.

Bringing Comfort Home with the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat Installation in Blainville

Why This Installation Was Special: The Story Behind It

At AirGreen, every project tells a story, and this one in Blainville is no different. Picture a bustling, lively home where the seasons bring not just temperature changes but also energy and excitement. The homeowners were looking for a high-performance air conditioning and heating system that could handle both sweltering summer days and the frosty Quebec winters, all while remaining energy efficient and whisper-quiet.

Our solution? The Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat 12,000 BTU wall-mounted air conditioner. This wasn’t just any installation; it was a project where we had to combine meticulous planning with innovative execution to provide optimal comfort year-round.

Why Choose the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat?

Installing the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat is like giving your home a shield against harsh weather extremes. Here's why:

Unmatched Performance in the Cold

The LomoPlus UltraHeat model is specially designed to handle the rigors of our Canadian winters, offering exceptional heating capacity even when temperatures plunge to a bone-chilling -30°C. Equipped with a robust base heater in the outdoor unit, it ensures that condensation doesn't freeze, maintaining peak performance when you need it most.

  • Heating Capacity: Effective down to -30°C.
  • Cooling Capacity: A refreshing 12,000 BTU, perfect for those humid summer days.

Cutting-Edge Features for Unbeatable Comfort

This unit isn't just about power. The Tosot LomoPlus is packed with advanced features that make everyday life better:

  • Two-Stage Inverter Technology: This sophisticated technology helps maximize energy savings and maintain consistent indoor temperatures.
  • Memory Function: Imagine your air conditioner remembering your preferred settings even after a power outage. That's real convenience.
  • Turbo Mode: Need a room cooled down or heated up quickly? The Turbo function ensures a rapid temperature adjustment.

Installation Day: Precision and Care in Blainville

Our team arrived at the Blainville home ready to work. Armed with a plan, we carefully selected the best spot for the interior unit, balancing aesthetics with functionality. This particular Tosot model, with its compact dimensions of 39.2 x 8.8 x 11.8 inches, fits seamlessly into any space, making it both discreet and efficient.

Securing the Perfect Spot for Efficiency

We understand that placement is key. By strategically mounting the unit high on the wall, we ensured optimal airflow throughout the room. The interior sound level, which ranges from 22 to 49 dB(A), was an important consideration, especially since the family wanted a quiet system that wouldn’t disturb their evening relaxation or sleep.

Outdoor Unit Installation: Built to Endure

The outdoor unit posed its own set of challenges. With a size of 35.3 x 14.8 x 23.4 inches and sound pressure level of 53 dB(A), we had to find the perfect balance between accessibility and minimal noise impact on neighbors. Our technicians expertly connected the 1/4 - 1/2-inch pipes, using top-quality insulation to maximize energy efficiency. We also made sure to use R-410A refrigerant, known for its eco-friendly properties and high efficiency.

Energy Savings and Grant Eligibility

What really sets the Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat apart is its 30.5 SEER rating. This high level of efficiency translates to substantial energy savings for the homeowner, and to sweeten the deal, this installation qualifies for a $972 LogisVert grant from Hydro-Québec. It's a smart choice that pays off both in comfort and cost savings.

Extended Warranties for Peace of Mind

With a 10-year warranty on parts and labor, Tosot stands behind its products. For those who want extra security, we offer an optional extended 10-year labor warranty, making maintenance stress-free.

User-Friendly Controls and Modern Convenience

Wireless Connectivity

The built-in WiFi allows homeowners to control their air conditioning and heating system from anywhere using a smartphone app. Whether they're returning from a long day at work or heading home from vacation, they can ensure their house is perfectly comfortable when they arrive.

Intelligent Defrost and Self-Diagnosis

Our customers love that the unit only defrosts when needed, thanks to its smart microprocessor-controlled system. This feature saves energy and keeps the unit operating at peak efficiency. Plus, if anything ever goes wrong, the self-diagnosis system makes service calls quicker and more efficient, identifying the issue right away.

Why This Installation Was a Success

The Blainville homeowners were thrilled with their new system, and it's easy to see why. They now have a climate solution that’s not only powerful but also incredibly energy-efficient and quiet. The Tosot LomoPlus UltraHeat has truly transformed their home, providing consistent comfort in a sleek and unobtrusive package.

By choosing AirGreen, they’ve invested in a system backed by industry-leading warranties, professional installation, and a promise of superior service. This installation is a shining example of our commitment to excellence and why more families are trusting us for their HVAC needs.

Your numbers

And at your place?

Two quick checks with real numbers: what heat costs, and what your current heaters add up to in BTU/h.

Size checkYour baseboards, in BTU/h
–BTU/h of installed electric heat

Conversion: 1 W = 3.412 BTU/h. An indication, not a load calculation: baseboards and furnaces are often stronger than the real need, and they can stay as backup. AirGreen confirms the capacity on site.

    Frequently asked questions

What people ask us about this kind of work

    12 questions
Does a wall-mounted heat pump heat in winter?
Yes, it heats and cools. Its capacity drops in very cold weather; the operating range depends on the model and is listed on its spec sheet.
    Wall-mounted or multi-zone: how do I choose?
One wall head and one condenser outside: the direct solution for a room or an open area. For two to five rooms, a multi-zone puts one head in each room on a single condenser.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
Where it stays above the snow, clear and accessible, away from walkways. We decide it with you during the estimate.
    Are there grants?
Depending on the model and your situation, assistance programs may apply, including Hydro-Québec's LogisVert. AirGreen checks the model number before quoting an amount. See the grants.
    Do I need a permit?
Rules vary from city to city: location, distances, noise. See permits and by-laws, and we check for your address.
    How cold can it heat?
It depends on the model. According to Hydro-Québec, newer models work down to a temperature between −15 °C and −25 °C, and some cold-climate models are certified lower. The minimum temperature is on each unit's spec sheet.
    How much can I save?
Hydro-Québec says a heat pump can be up to three times more efficient than baseboards for heating in the colder months. The result depends on the house, the climate and how it is used.
How is the LogisVert assistance calculated?
For ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified heat pumps, Hydro-Québec lists assistance of $120 per 1,000 BTU/h of heating capacity at −8 °C. AirGreen checks the exact model before quoting an amount; only Hydro-Québec confirms the assistance granted. See the grants.
    Is it noisy?
The sound level depends on the model and is listed in decibels on each unit's spec sheet. Location matters too: when possible, we avoid putting the outdoor unit under a bedroom window.
The outdoor unit is covered in ice: is that normal?
Some frost is: the unit runs defrost cycles. Never hit the ice. If the unit stays iced up or stops heating, call us.
Does AirGreen hold the required licences?
Yes. AirGreen holds RBQ licence 5645-9605-01, subclasses 15.8 Ventilation, 15.10 Refrigeration and 16 Electricity.
    Is the estimate free?
Yes. The on-site estimate is free and the quote follows within 24 hours. Book my free estimate.
