At AirGreen , we recently completed a Midea28 wall-mounted heat pump installation in a residence in the Chomedey sector of Laval . The Midea28 choice: a new generation R-454B system
The Midea28 represents the new generation of wall-mounted heat pumps operating on R-454B refrigerant , a gas that is more environmentally friendly than R-410A. This Energy Star -certified unit ensures optimal performance down to -30°C , making it ideal for the harsh winters of Laval and Greater Montreal .
Available in several power ratings (9,000 to 33,000 BTU), it adapts to any type of housing: condo, apartment or single-family home. In this specific case, we opted for a 12,000 BTU unit , perfectly sized for the main room, ensuring consistent comfort throughout the year.
A meticulous and discreet installation
The indoor unit, installed in a central position on a load-bearing wall, was carefully leveled and protected by its factory film until final commissioning. The refrigerant pipes and electrical wiring were routed through the back of the wall, allowing for aesthetic integration without any visible ducts .
The exterior conduits, meanwhile, were routed with heat-resistant white capping , ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements and a visually harmonious finish.
This was completed with a leak test and a professional vacuum , ensuring maximum performance of the refrigeration circuit before the release of the refrigerant fluid.
