A complex HVAC installation high up on a brick facade
In the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie neighborhood of Montreal , we recently completed the installation of a Gree wall-mounted heat pump in a typical red brick plex. This project perfectly illustrates our team's ability to work in demanding conditions, particularly at height, while respecting the strictest safety and performance standards.
The outdoor unit was installed directly on a small, narrow balcony, under a window, requiring the use of an extended ladder and safe techniques to maneuver the equipment without damaging the facade.
Why the Gree heat pump is a strategic choice in Montreal
Gree heat pumps are among the most popular systems in our residential installations in Greater Montreal. Their popularity is based on several advantages:
-
Cold climate performance : designed to operate efficiently down to -25°C and sometimes -30°C depending on the range.
-
Energy efficiency : Energy Star certification, helping to reduce electricity costs for heating and cooling.
-
Durability : robust compressors and quality parts that withstand Quebec winters well.
-
Grant eligibility : eligible for government programs such as LogisVert and Maison plus verte .
In this specific case, the owner wanted to take advantage of these benefits to replace an aging electric heating system and reduce his annual energy bill.
Technical challenges and tailor-made solutions
The installation presented several unique challenges:
-
Working at height : the balcony was located approximately 4 meters above the ground, which required strict safety management.
-
Restricted access : The brick facade and window position limited the unit's placement options.
-
Robust fixing : to avoid any vibration and guarantee the longevity of the installation, we have used a reinforced metal wall bracket suitable for masonry facades.
Our team carefully planned the routing of the refrigeration pipes and electrical wiring , incorporating neutral-colored protective capping for a discreet and aesthetic finish. Condensate drainage was optimized by gravity to avoid any risk of water accumulation or freezing in winter.
Result: comfort guaranteed all year round
Thanks to this installation, the customer now benefits from stable thermal comfort throughout the year: efficient heating in winter and effective air conditioning in summer. The unit operates silently, which is particularly appreciated in a dense residential area like Rosemont.
This achievement confirms once again that, at AirGreen , we know how to combine technical expertise, safety and energy efficiency , even in the most complex conditions.
