In this project, we were called to Laval-des-Rapides, to a typical brick condo building, to improve the comfort of a co-owner who suffered from both the summer heat and the winter cold. The main constraint: everything had to be done on a relatively narrow concrete balcony, with neighbors above, below, and on either side.
Our solution: the installation of a high-efficiency Gree Inverter wall-mounted heat pump , perfectly suited to the realities of a high-rise condo.

to facilitate the flow of water (rain, snowmelt, condensation),

to limit the accumulation of snow around the condenser in winter,
-
to reduce vibrations transmitted to the structure using anti-vibration pads .
This support is securely anchored to withstand winds and mechanical stresses, while respecting the structural constraints of the balcony.
Strategic positioning
The condenser is placed against the side concrete slab , so that:

maintain good air circulation at the front and sides ;
-
avoid blowing directly towards the neighbors or towards the balcony relaxation area;
-
clear the usable space in front of the patio door.
We consistently adhere to the clearances recommended by Gree to ensure optimal performance and avoid any hot air recirculation.
Management of refrigeration connections and aesthetics
The refrigeration pipes, cables, and drain are grouped together in a white conduit that runs along the brick wall. This solution offers several advantages:

Neat visual presentation, essential in co-ownership;

Easy access for any future maintenance.
The cable channel enters the wall near the window to join the interior head, in order to minimize the visual impact inside the condo.
Safe power supply
To the left of the condenser, an external electrical box serving as a disconnect switch is visible. We connect the heat pump to a dedicated circuit from the condo's electrical panel, in accordance with the applicable electrical code.
This disconnect switch allows the power supply to be cut off quickly during maintenance or interventions, guaranteeing the safety of occupants and our technicians.
