What each SECARR sheet describes, side by side. Capacities do not compare across series: the manufacturer does not publish them at the same air condition.

Two manufacturer documents disagree. At 82 °F / 60 % RH, the SDA REV 1 sheet gives 5.8 to 28 lb/h. The 2021 SECARR brochure, which our product pages use, gives 5.5 to 26.5 lb/h. This page follows the sheet, the newer document.

SDS: from the lb/h requirement to the model, then to the mechanical room
The SDS sheet publishes one capacity per model, at 82 °F / 60 % RH. A pool’s requirement is calculated from the basin and the air: the manufacturer makes that selection with its pool form. Enter the resulting figure, then pick the version.

IRD: what each model removes, depending on the arena air
The IRD REV 0 sheet gives a grid for each model, from 40 to 80 °F and 40 to 100% RH. There is no single rating: capacity changes a lot with the arena air. Cells the sheet does not publish stay empty.

05 · Warranty and start-up
The SECARR warranty hinges on start-up
The manufacturer’s written terms, nothing added. Enter your dates: the tool applies the rule of the document you pick.

Start-up by a qualified technician
Within 6 months of delivery. If it happens later, a form must reach the manufacturer within 30 days of the invoice.
Compressor: on quotation
The general policy mentions 5 years “if applicable”. The SDA and SDS sheets mention a 4-year extended warranty, sometimes standard, sometimes optional. Ask for it in writing on the quotation.

No grant to announce, and here is why
Checked October 13, 2026 on each program’s own site. None names these units.
ENERGY STAR
The Dehumidifiers program (v6.0) covers portable and whole-home units. No THERMOPLUS or SECARR unit is on the certified list.
LogisVert
The residential guide v1.10 (September 15, 2026) has no measure for a dehumidifier.
Efficient Solutions
Hydro-Québec’s business program does not publish its list of measures, and none of its documents names these units.
Énergir
Aid is based on natural gas saved; no program names dehumidifiers.
Listing: the SECARR sheets call for an ETL or CSA listed unit; the IRD sheet specifies ETL.

What building owners ask us
Who makes SECARR dehumidifiers?
Thermoplus Air Industries Inc. SECARR is its dehumidification brand, alongside its Thermoplus heat pumps and its KeepKool line.
Which series for an indoor pool?
The SDS series. Its sheet covers dehumidification, pool water heating, and air heating or cooling.
Which series for an ice rink or an arena?
The IRD series, a self-contained defogger with hot gas defrost and a digital humidistat, from 1,200 to 5,500 cfm.
How do I choose the right capacity?
From an lb/h requirement calculated for your building. The manufacturer publishes no rule by floor area. For pools, it makes the selection with its own form.
Why does the SDA capacity here differ from the product page?
Two manufacturer documents disagree: the SDA REV 1 sheet gives a little more than the 2021 brochure. The page follows the sheet, the newer one.
Horizontal or vertical: what changes for the SDS?
Dimensions and weight. Same capacity and airflow for the same model, according to the SDS REV 1 sheet.
What is the warranty?
Under the manufacturer’s general policy: manufacturing defects, 1 year from installation or 18 months from manufacture, parts only. The IRD sheet says 1 year from start-up or 15 months from shipment.
Is the extended compressor warranty included?
On quotation. The SECARR documents show it sometimes as standard, sometimes as an option.
Is there a grant?
No program checked on October 13, 2026 (ENERGY STAR, LogisVert, Efficient Solutions, Énergir) names these units.
Which refrigerants?
R-410A for the SDA and SDS series, R-448A for the IRD series.
Are they listed?
The sheets call for an ETL or CSA listed unit; the IRD sheet specifies ETL.
How much does it cost?
