Quick facts
6 kW of hot water heat for a garage, a basement or a small unit
One element, one zone, one wall
Thermo 2000’s Mini BTH 6 rests on a simple idea: a single 6 kW element, controlled by an aquastat, in a cabinet that mounts on the wall. It delivers 20,472 BTU/h at 240 V and holds only 1 US gal of water. The manufacturer describes it as very compact, multi-position and quiet, and intends it for condos and houses as well as basements and garages.
Practical uses around Montreal
A detached garage in Laval whose concrete slab already contains radiant heating tubing. A unit fitted out in the basement of a Longueuil home, with its own heated floor. A small house on the North Shore heated by hydronic baseboards. In each case, the Mini BTH 6 heats an independent water loop without taking up floor space.
Thermo 2000 also designs it as backup for a heat pump, a geothermal or a solar system. It runs with no GHG emissions and is easy to maintain, according to the manufacturer.
Electrical connection and control
At 240 V, the appliance draws 25.0 A. Thermo 2000 specifies a 40 A breaker and Cu 8 or Al 6 wire. If the building is supplied at 208 V, output drops to 4.5 kW (21.8 A), which we take into account when choosing the size.
The aquastat sets the water temperature between 50 °F and 190 °F (10 °C and 90 °C). An indicator light shows when the element is heating, a switch turns the appliance off and a 24 V supply serves the thermostat and accessories. The Mini BTH has no outdoor sensor. On the water side, it accepts 4.1 US gpm at a 10 °F difference, or 2.0 US gpm at 20 °F, with negligible pressure drop according to the manufacturer. Two high temperature limits, automatic at 208 °F (98 °C) and manual at 227 °F (108 °C), protect the appliance.
Our installation
We start with a free on-site estimate: heating needs of the space, condition of the circuit, electrical panel. The written quote then specifies the circulator and the expansion tank, which are not included with the boiler. On installation day, our technicians mount the appliance on the wall, connect its four 3/4 in NPT connections to the circuit, install the supplied 30 psi relief valve and temperature and pressure gauge, make the electrical and thermostat connections, then fill, purge and check the heating with you.
AirGreen is a family business established in Montreal for more than fifteen years, holding RBQ licence 5645-9605-01 in ventilation, refrigeration and electrical work. Thermo 2000 warrants the tank for 15 years and the electrical and mechanical components for 2 years, in Canada and the United States.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Mini BTH 6 heat a garage?
Yes. Thermo 2000 lists garages alongside condos, houses and basements. It heats the water of a slab or a radiant floor. We assess the garage’s heating needs before confirming the 6 kW size.
How does it differ from the Mini BTH 7.5?
The Mini BTH 6 runs on a single 6 kW element, on one stage. The Mini BTH 7.5 offers 7.5 kW. We choose between the two based on the heat loss calculation done during the free estimate.
What electrical connection is needed?
A 240 V circuit with a 40 A breaker and Cu 8 or Al 6 wire; the appliance draws 25.0 A. At 208 V, it gives 4.5 kW (21.8 A).
What is in the box?
The boiler, the 30 psi relief valve, the drain valve, the temperature and pressure gauge and the installation manual. The circulator and expansion tank must be added.
What warranty does Thermo 2000 offer?
15 years on the tank and 2 years on electrical and mechanical components, in Canada and the United States.
