The name says 15,000 BTU: that's the unit's size class. Durastar publishes 14,700 BTU/h at 230 V, and 14,500 at 208 V, the supply in many buildings. Better to read it here than on the spec sheet after installation.
3,535 WThe heater that heats the room
The "G" in DRPTAC15Y41G1A means a 3.5 kW heater: 3,535 W (10,900 BTU/h) at 230 V, 2,900 W at 208 V, on the 6-20P plug of the LCDI cord supplied. It heats the room all winter.
50.1 dBThe noise at low speed
50.1 dB(A) at low speed, 51.4 at high speed, as published by Durastar. In a bedroom, that's the number that decides the complaints: the unit runs at night, two metres from the bed.

50,1 dB(A) au réglage le plus bas, et ce que cela vaut la nuit
DuraStar publie deux valeurs sonores parce que le ventilateur a deux allures. La plus basse, 50,1 dB(A), est celle qui compte là où l'on dort à quelques pieds du caisson. Aucune cote d'efficacité n'accompagne ces chiffres et nous n'en inventons pas : ce que nous promettons, c'est un emplacement choisi pour que le réglage bas suffise.

L'ouverture et le manchon dans un logement occupé
La coupe se fait à l'empreinte du caisson, 42 x 21 x 16 po, avec un linteau si un montant porteur est coupé. Dans un logement habité, la poussière compte autant que la structure : nous isolons la pièce, coupons en une séance et refermons le jour même. Le manchon mural est posé de niveau avec sa pente vers l'extérieur, et la grille extérieure vient au-dessus de la ligne de neige.
La liste de vérification avant de rendre les clés
Nous vérifions le calage du manchon, l'étanchéité du pourtour, l'écoulement du condensat sous charge, la prise 220 V et le cordon, puis les deux allures de ventilation. Le circuit dédié est identifié au panneau, au nom du logement.
Ce que le personnel doit savoir reconnaître
- Un délai de trois minutes au redémarrage protège le compresseur.
- De l'eau s'écoule côté extérieur par temps humide : c'est le condensat.
- Un ronflement dans le mur signale un manchon mal calé, pas une pièce usée.
