Mini Split GENERAL AIRSTAGE LMAS1 9 000 BTU (New) in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, South Shore and North Shore.
GENERAL AIRSTAGE LMAS1 9,000 BTU: the ENERGY STAR Wall-Mounted Heat Pump with certified efficiency, for a bedroom or office in Laval-des-Rapides
Three certified values fit on a single line: a SEER2 of 26.5, an HSPF2 of 12.6 and an ENERGY STAR cold-climate label. They belong to the Fujitsu AIRSTAGE LMAS1 9,000 BTU, and they are, to the digit, those of the GENERAL AIRSTAGE LMAS1 9,000 BTU, because it is the same machine: same indoor unit ASUH09LMAS, same outdoor unit AOUH09LMAS1, same AHRI certificate 207615688. The manufacturer, Fujitsu General Limited, has been called GENERAL Inc. since January 1, 2026, and the warranty has not changed by a single year: 12 years on the compressor, as many on parts, 6 years on labour.
This model is for the person who compares spec sheets before calling. The one who wants, for their bedroom or their home office in a Laval-des-Rapides condo or plex, a wall-mounted heat pump whose figures were measured by an independent body rather than announced by a brochure. We explain those figures one by one, and we point out right away that this model is not on Hydro-Québec's LogisVert list despite its cold-climate label.
GENERAL or Fujitsu AIRSTAGE: the same machine
Certifications follow the product, not the logo, and that is what makes this name change painless. Fujitsu General was acquired in August 2025 by Paloma Rheem Holdings, the group that has owned Rheem since 1988, and, on January 1, 2026, Fujitsu General Limited changed its name to GENERAL Inc. The head office and the research and development centre remain in Kawasaki, Japan, the factories remain the same, and the AIRSTAGE line keeps its model numbers, its certificates and its warranty program. GENERAL is a name that has served as a trademark since 1946, carried by a company founded in 1936 that celebrates the 90th anniversary of its founding in 2026. Canadian sales have gone through Rheem Canada since February 2026, and our distributor, Groupe Master, does not change.
The Fujitsu brand is being phased out, and during the transition the same heat pump is sold under both names. We keep both pages so that you can look up the model under the name you know; the table below lines up the two versions, and every row is identical.

Where the figures come from. AHRI certificate 207615688 attests the efficiency values of the indoor and outdoor unit pair. NEEP, the cold-climate heat pump database, publishes under that same certificate the capacities and COPs measured at different outdoor temperatures. ENERGY STAR, finally, lists the model under ID 2409906 with the cold-climate designation, which recognizes its efficiency at low temperature. Three sources, one unit: when we give you a value, you can find it again yourself.
What the HSPF2 of 12.6 changes on the bill. The HSPF2 measures, over a full heating season, the heat delivered per unit of electricity consumed. A baseboard returns exactly what it consumes; a heat pump returns several times more. At 12.6, this model sits at the top end of wall-mounted heat pumps, and in a bedroom or office heated by baseboards, that is the most visible part of the savings. The detail by temperature, measured by NEEP, says the same thing: at −8 °C, the unit delivers 7,400 BTU/h with a COP of 3.19, that is 3.19 units of heat per unit of electricity; at −15 °C, it still delivers 10,100 BTU/h, 112% of its nominal 9,000 BTU size, with a COP of 2.37. In other words, on a January morning in Laval-des-Rapides, this 9,000 BTU heats more than its name suggests, and it does so for less than half the electricity a baseboard would require.
The limit, stated frankly. The cold-climate label recognizes efficiency at low temperature; the heating limit guaranteed by the manufacturer, for its part, is −15 °C. Below that point, you keep the room's baseboard as backup, and we leave it in place at installation. So the heat pump carries the room from fall to spring, and the few colder nights go by with the backup. In mild weather, its certified maximum capacity reaches 15,000 BTU/h at 8 °C, 67% more than its nominal size, enough to bring an office left cool during an absence back up quickly.
Summer, measured too. The SEER2 of 26.5 and the EER2 of 14.3 measure the cooling delivered per unit of electricity, over the season and at the hottest point of the day. At 35 °C, the certified maximum air conditioning capacity reaches 10,900 BTU/h, 21% more than the nominal size: an office with two screens and a west window, or a bedroom under the roof, drops to the setpoint even during a heat wave, and the unit pulls out the humidity at the same time. The indoor unit runs between 19 and 43 dB(A) depending on speed; at low speed, it cannot be heard on a video call or at night. The outdoor unit runs at 48 dB(A), away from bedroom windows. The Wi-Fi module is optional.
LogisVert: not listed. Despite its ENERGY STAR cold-climate label, this model does not appear on the list of heat pumps eligible for Hydro-Québec's LogisVert program according to the list of October 27, 2026. So we promise you no amount. If the assistance is part of your budget, we present a listed model alongside, with both quotes side by side.
The installation in a bedroom or office. Without ductwork, installing a wall-mounted heat pump comes down to an indoor unit, an outdoor unit and, between the two, a refrigerant line, a cable and a drain that pass through a single hole in the wall. Here are the decisions our refrigeration technicians make in a room for work or sleep:
- The placement of the head: high up, oriented so the air passes above the desk or the bed without falling on the neck or the pillow; in an office, away from the screens to avoid direct air on the workstation.
- The outdoor unit: on a wall bracket or a ground pad, raised above the snow, with clearance for air and for defrost water, away from bedroom windows.
- The refrigerant line: insulated 1/4 and 3/8 in copper, protected by a line cover outdoors, with as few bends as possible.
- The drain: by gravity to the outside; when the wall does not allow the slope, a condensate pump is added and written into the quote.
- Electrical: a licensed electrician connects the unit to its own 208/230 V circuit; the panel is checked at the estimate visit.
- Start-up: nitrogen leak test, vacuum, start-up, supply-air temperature check and mode settings with you.
Maintenance and filters. The indoor filters unclip by hand, go under warm water and are put back once dry; that regular rinsing is what maintains the certified efficiency over time, because a loaded filter reduces airflow before anything else. Outside, clear the snow around the unit after each snowfall. Once a year, a refrigeration technician inspects the R-410A refrigerant charge and cleans the coil and the drain pan. The parts and the maintenance routine are those of the Fujitsu version.
Who it is for. The bedroom or home office of a condo, a plex or a small house in Laval-des-Rapides, for someone who wants measured efficiency, a quiet unit and economical heating down to −15 °C, keeping the baseboard for the extreme nights. For a living room, a whole floor or heating with no backup in deep cold, we will propose another model in the line, with its own certified figures.
